Chapter 4

I hate how I'm such a mess. It's crazy to think that at one moment everything is perfect, and then you see or hear a thing or a person that messes up your whole mood.

So, I reach home. I go towards my kitchen and see my mom cooking like the "someone is coming over for dinner" cooking.

"Who's coming over ma?" I say grabbing an apple over from the counter.

"Our new neighbours. They just moved from a few blocks away. I chatted with the mother earlier today. Her son goes to your school". She tells me chopping some potatoes.

"Oh, what's his name.?" I ask her.

"Zack" she says.

The name sounded so familiar.

I grab my headphones and go outside for a stroll. I pop in my headphones in my ears and turn on the music player. Before a song began, I hear a voice calling my name.

"Rae!" I turn around and see a truck with things being unloaded. And see Zack jogging towards me.

"Hey" he says.
"Hi, so you are the new neighbours ha?"
"Haha yeah, my old house was a bit to old so we decided why not?"
"Ahh that's cool."
"So mind if I join you?" He asks while I turn back and front.
"Yeah sure"
We begin walking for sometime when he broke the silence.

"I love it over here, it's peaceful".
"Really?".
"Yeah."
"Why so?"
"Well because the street we lived in, was horrible. People steal from each others houses. A lot of crimes. Shit happens."

When he said the last part he looked down. As if it reminded him of something so horrible. "

Now I'm no problem solver or anything but I just go straight ahead and ask him.
"Why?. What had happened? ".

"Nothing really, just lost someone". "Just lost someone?".
"My dad, listen I don't mean to sound rude or anything but I don't want to talk about it. Eventually it'll come out one day. Just not today. I'm sorry. I got to go. It was nice talking to you though. Bye." He says giving a smile as he walks away.

And I continue my stroll which had to be interupted by zack. What fun.

So after some time of looking at trees and green around and people of various cultures, I saw the sky. It's colours turning from blue to pink and red then orange and so on after it reaches the darkest sky colour.

It was probably time to head on home. I turn back ad I bump into the last person I wanted to see. Drew.

"Ugh, what do you want?" I say as grumpily as I could.

"Well hello to you to? Can't I just come around to talk to you? I don't think it's illegal or anything, is it?

"Look- he cuts me of as I was about to say something.
"-I didn't come here to annoy you, I just want you to listen, just a few minutes I promise it won't take so long. Just listen to me and your on your way back to wherever." He says stopping me from leaving him.

"Make it quick,as it is I don't have time. We'll at least not enough to waste on assholes." I say.

"Wow okay. So listen Jessica is a hoe and I can definitely agree on that. And since I don't know you think I'm an asshole, doesn't mean I'm with her. Sometimes assholes hate hoes so I think you get what I mean. If there's anything, anything at all I'm not with her on anything. She probably is using my name to get back at you. I don't think you should even listen to her. Or anyone. For all you know she could posses the whole school into thinking what she wants them to about you. So ignore her. Just do that and eventually she'll get tired of you. And trust me, there's is no way I'm on her side. Even the world ends." He says the last part smiling at me. Our eyes lock and suddenly I start feeling uncomfortable. I then turn my head to the other way.

"Well you should have told me all of this before when I snapped at you. " I say scratching the back of my head. I'm no person who likes to be proved wrong so I guess that's why I said it.

"I did but you decided to drive over my words and leave me hanging." He said while smirking at me.

"Oh sorry about that. Or anything at all. " I say as I feel the rush of embarrassment coming on my cheeks.

"It's kay. Just next time, let me explain." He said.

"Yeah definitely " I then walk back home.

As I open the front door, I hear people laughing like the house wasn't that quite.

I then notice that I'm late for dinner with Zacks family.

I go to the dining room and see my dad sitting on one side surrounded by my mom and Zacks mom on both sides and then Zacks little brother and then my little brother, Kate on the opposing side, and then zack, leaving me a seat next to him.

"I see you have made it on time honey." My mom calls out.

'Oh umm yeah hey everyone' I say as I wave my hand and sit down next to zack.

As I sit I knock down a glass of water causing it to spill all over me.

Oh this better be good.
