Chapter 5

It's 3 am on a friday morning and I hear noises from the house beside us. I always left my windows open to feel the fresh air while I sleep. It gives me the chills.

I get up from my bed and rubbed my eyes. I go to my windows and the shouting can be heard louder as I get nearer.

"You worthless piece of shit! Your of no use and never will be!"
"Well thanks for reminding me mom now I have someone to look up to. Why can't you understand it was mistake? People make mistakes!"
"Well the biggest mistake I ever made was you!"
*THUD*
My eyes widened at zack and his mom's argument. At dinner they seemed to be fine. I mean they seemed happy talking to us.

I felt sorry for zack feeling that way. Because I knew how it felt sometimes.

I see zack climbing out of his window sitting on the roof I quickly hide behind the curtains. Deciding whether I should I go ask what's going on or let him have his alone time. I mean I knew I would have wanted it.

Just as I turn to go back to bed zack calls out my name.

"Rae?"

"Oh hey" I smile slightly.
"What are you doing up so late?"
"Um. I heard people shouting so I woke up"
I take a step out to the roof .

Each house in the neighbourhood had roofs that combined each other. Some people had a separation if they wanted to have high privacy. We didn't really care much about it so our house roof was combined one.

I sit next to him.

"Uhm...I'm sorry. Me and my mom got in to an argument."

"It's okay. I know how it feels like."
I give a shy smile.

Silence crept through the air as none of us knew what to say.

"So, what is it with that Jessica girl and you?" He asked with a puzzled expression.

"Jessica. Why don't I find that name pleasing.?

He laughs a bit.

"Well you know every school has a girl like Jessica. So I guess this is our schools girl and I'm her target. "
"That is sick. I hate her already"
I smile and think of him as someone I'm gonna get along with real soon.

"You know what? I heard that she has a crush on me since I joined the school." He says laughing.

"Ahah wow. Um good for you?" I say feeling really awkward.

"Aannddd? Really? Your not going to start that evil revenge planning shit like how most girls do to their ex's?". He asks dumbfounded.

"Do I look like most girls to you?"

"Nope" he says popping the 'p'

"Good. Because I really hate her already thinking about her and how to get revenge on her is the least on my mind right now."

"Wow. I would still take my chances." He stares at me and we start laughing.

"Well I have to sleep don't wanna miss first period." I get up and leave and he pulls me into a hug.
