I was flying. With the sun kissing my bare skin, the clouds looked like bleached cotton. Air ripping through strands of hair that hovered like a cape behind me. and the slight cool breeze I felt as I soared was euphoric. The sky was my playground. I was free. Finally, truly free. From everything. Forever.
Get up Kiara."
My eyes opened to the blinding sun coming through my large window. My hand instinctively went to my blades on my bedside table. I shot up off my bed and and turned to face the intruder. When I saw who it was I groaned. It was way too early for this.
"Leigh go away!" I sighed and sat back down on my bed. Resting my knives back on their spot.
" What's wrong with you? I haven't heard from you in weeks! You're a mess and is that blood!" She pointed to the crimson that stained the once white sheets of my bed. I
stared into the grim blue eyes of my friend. Why won't she leave me alone?
"Its business. Nothing more."
"Take your shirt off right now," she demanded. Really? She wanted it right now? It's too early for that. I groaned. Leigh was my friend- my only friend. She was almost two years older than me. Her silky blonde hair was almost white. It fell in waves down her slender back to her butt. She had hard eyes and a cruel diplomatic smile. She was in the same line of work as I am, just more the business than the dirty work. She often got me jobs doing the dirty work. I didn't mind, I love the dirty work. I did as she asked and took my shirt off revealing my lovely lacy black bra. I may be a badass but I still love my bras. It's not as much fun with the plain ones.
"My god look what you've done to yourself!" She scolded. I looked down at the slice I had along my right side. It wasn't the worst I'd gotten but still deep enough to hurt.
"Where's your med kit?" She asked. I pointed to my shelf where It was laying on top. I have fairly simple room. My "house" if that's even what you want to call it, was made up of and old warehouse that I'd furnished and decorated to my style. I had and area training, a lovely kitchen, bathrooms of course and my room. No one but Leigh knew about my little haven and I was perfectly fine with that. Best keep my job away from home. Wouldn't want it to get blown up like the last one. Leigh came over and started put "Gecko's Heal&Seal Cream" on the gash in my side. I hated this stuff. It was freezing and smelt like hospitals. Bad memories there. But thanks to modern technology it sterilizes, stops the bleeding and heals the cut in a few hours to a day.
"Why didn't you do this last night?" Leigh questioned while helping me put my shirt back on.
"By the time I had finished the job I was exhausted."
"What happened?"
"A Drug manufacturer didn't pay up to someone and this someone wasn't very happy about that. So I took care of the head and blew up the building. Killed quite a few guards too. One of the bigger ones came at me with a fucking Samurai sword from a display on the wall . I'm wasn't fast enough. So I got this. Poor guy was so distracted with his short victory that he barely noticed me slitting his throat. My client was very satisfied."
"How much did you make?" She asked curiously with a mischievous smile.
"That's strictly confidential," I said smoothly, returning the smile.
"I'm sure I can get it out of you..." Her hand reached the bottom of my shirt and started crawling it up my left side.
"I'd love to see you try," I teased.
She threw me onto the bed and jumped onto of me. Her hands quickly getting my shirt off. I ripped off her button up shirt and threw it on the floor. I smirked and rolled on top her.
This'll be fun.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
