I woke up, feeling something warm wrapped around torso. My eyes snapped open to see what that warm feeling was. I looked straight in front of me and saw...Kellin? What-Wait. Oh yeah...I stayed at his house last night after Step *ss "punished" him again. In case you haven't figured it out yet, Step *ss is our nickname for Kellin's Step Dad, Jeremy. He's an *ss, so that's why we call him Step *ss.

I reached into my back pocket, carefully, trying not to wake Kellin, and pulled out my phone. I check the time, and it said 12:34. Well, so much for school. Eh, who cares about that h*llhole anyway. I figured I should wake up Kellin so he didn't sleep all day.

"Hey Kells. Wake up." I said, shaking him very, very gently. "Kell....." He groaned and buried his face in my chest. Awww. He's adorable. Wait. What? He's my best friend. No. He's not adorable. Well, he is, but...nevermind.

I pushed those thoughts away for now. I poked Kellin in the face, hoping that it'd wake him up. "What?" He said, making a scrunched up face, turning away. Oh God, no. He looks so adorable. Stop, Vic. Stop.

"You gotta get up, Kells. It's 12:34." I said.

His eyes shot open. "Wait. We missed school?" He asked, sounding worried. "Oh no no no no. My step dad is gonna kill me." He said, getting up and pacing around the room. Wincing in the process of all that, I might add. "No. My step dad is gonna...no. I...I can't. He can't do that. Vic, he's gonna hurt me bad this time."

His eyes started watering, and I quickly got up to comfort him. "Hey, no. I'm not gonna let him hurt you, Kell. You won't be near him for him to be able to hurt you. I'll either stay here with you, or you can stay at my house with me. I'm not gonna let him hurt you. Never. No one is allowed to hurt my best friend. Last night...I should've been here. And I'm so, so sorry that I wasn't, but I promise that from now on, I will always be with you." I said, hugging him. "Okay? I promise."

He sniffed a little, pulling away from the hug. He had calmed down a little, but there were still tears streaming down his pale face. He doesn't deserve to cry. He has such a good heart, and he didn't do anything to deserve this. I promise to him and myself that I will never leave his side ever again. Ever. "Okay." He finally said. "I canNOT spend another night in this home." He said. He closed his eyes, taking a breath slowly. "I would've run away earlier, but the consequence was that if I left, I'd be alone. But now that I have you, I won't be alone. Thank you, Vic. Will you help me pack?" He said.

"Of course. Anything for you, Kell. Do you wanna get breakfast first?" I asked, and he shook his head. "Okay. Let's get packing then." I said, smiling at the beautifully broken boy in front of me.

Wait. Did I just call him beautiful? What am I thinking? Do I like-No. No. He's my best friend. I can't.

I pushed out those thoughts, walking over to the table beside Kellin's bed, grabbing my phone. I unlocked it, and went to music, playing my 'Bands Playlist' which consisted of All Time Low, Hollywood Undead, PVRIS, Black Veil Brides, Fall Out Boy, Panic!AtTheDisco, Ghost Town, My Chemical Romance, Paramore, and many more bands.
