The deal to start it all: That Bill will hang out with Dipper at an upcoming convention. This takes place almost three years after all of Weirdmageddon went down. Two summers of mindless shenanigans have passed since Dipper, Mabel, Stanford, and Stanley saved everyone and banished Bill back to the Dreamscape. But this is a domestic fic so even though Bill is back, he won't be summoning up his demon underlings or anything and try to take over the world again. He's just here to hang out.
Dipper and Mabel are 15, almost 16, and have returned to Gravity Falls in the summer before their junior year. Mabel is still just as crazy and Dipper is still just as curious. They have their own rooms and go on their own adventures but they're still best friends, of course. This story happens to focus on Dipper and the unconventional happenings that led to he and Bill Cipher becoming (somewhat) friends.
