Check ups, important questions, and Sherlock

Bill:

~The next morning, Bill groggily opens his eyes and looks about in confusion, being met with the ceiling of Dipper's room.~

Ugh, what... What happened?

~He tries to sit up, but he gets dizzy and his side starts throbbing in pain so he lays back down for another minute or two.~

Oh come on. Ahh, three, two, aaaaaand one.

~He attempts to sit up again, slowly, groaning as he does so. He can now properly scan the room but with the pain in his side being a major distraction, he can only process seeing Dipper asleep upright in the chair across from him before crying out in confusion.~

Wait... Was I here all night?!

Dipper:

(incoherent mumbles, growing in volume) hm- ah- Bill!

~Dipper's eyes snap open from his place in the chair. He looks around disoriented for a minute before focusing on the demon. They're both staring, confused, with the underlying panic of having just woken up.~

You're still here?

Bill:

I-I'm still here?

~He asks himself, looking down at his hands and arms.~

And I'm still human? What is going on?

~The demon's eyes widen.~

Wait. Did I "fall asleep" here last night?

Dipper:

Well, yeah, I guess you were in a lot of pain or something.

I mean, your chest didn't look that bad, but...

I don't really get how but you did pass out, yes.

Bill:

Crap, must've lost track of time...

Dipper:

Okay man, seriously what is going on? You've had to leave rather abruptly twice now. And this time, when you still kept saying you had to leave, you passed out!

Bill:

~He opens his mouth to answer but first takes a moment, having to catch his breath.~

Well, unlike you Pinetree. I'm not human. I'm not mortal. And since I've decided to make a vessel for myself, I'm putting an immortal being in a mortal body. That's hard! I have to use up a lot the energy to make sure it runs properly and then calling for my magic in that state is extremely taxing. And unfortunately, I do have a limited amount of energy I can use while in a human state...

Dipper:

You mean that using any magic at all is draining?

Well then don't use any! You passed out! I thought you were dying!

Bill:

I appreciate the thought, but I need my magic!

I'm not my fabulous, insane self without it! And I'm normally fine...

I don't know what exactly happened yesterday that made me run out.

I should be okay now, er, eventually. As soon as I get my strength back up.

But heh, you were worried about me, Pinetree?

Dipper:

You... ugh... you need to rest.
