{ Austin's P.O.V. }

After at least five minutes of a stare off with Avery, I gave up and moved over to where she was sitting.

As much as I hate showing defeat, I didn't feel like listening to a pissed Mr.Adams lecturing me about 'not moving'.

A pleased look was plastered onto her face knowing that I was the first to move instead of her.

Once I seated myself next to her, I kept zoning in and out about some scavenger hunt or something.

What juniors do scavenger hunts?

"Austin?"

I mean, as much as I hate learning, I guess anything is better than doing work.

What am I kidding. I never do work.

"Austin!" A frustrated Avery yells, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"What, Princess?" I smirk.

"Did you hear a word I just said?"

Technically, no..

"Yep," I state, popping the 'p'.

She rolls her eyes and stands up to go to another table, picking up a small sheet of paper.

"It's the things we need to find in a certain area, stupid."

Ouch.

I place my hand over my heart and dramatically say, "Hurtful."

"Oh, you have feelings now?" She crosses her arms in the process.

Double ouch.

"Yes Miss Popularity. Now let's go," I say rather rudely.

{ Avery's P.O.V. }

I know that boy hasn't heard a word I've said. His mind was obviously somewhere else.

"Austin?" I ask with a hint of annoyance in my tone.

Nothing.

"Austin!" I yell, finally snapping him out of it.

"What Princess?" God, I hate when he gives me nicknames.

Maybe his should be 'smartass'. Yeah, that suits his perfectly.

"Did you hear a word I just said?"

He hesitates for a moment, and decided that he did pay attention.

"Yep," He said popping the 'p'.

Sure.

Lying bastard.

I roll my eyes and get up, walking over to the table Katie's at. Mr. Adams placed different varieties of sheets on her table.

I picked up a random piece and walked back over to the table Austin and I are sitting at.

"It's the certain things we need to find, stupid," I say while he looks down at the paper in confusion.

Right away he does that dramatic-hand-over-heart-thing, adding a, "Hurtful."

"Oh, so you have feelings now?" I spat.

He sent a glare in my direction, and finally said, "Yes Miss Popularity. Now let's go."

"This is so damn stupid. Let's just go back to the cabin," Austin grumbles.

Let's take a small realization of what is happening at the moment.

Austin and I are lost.

Lost in the woods.

Somehow, I noticed this small trail lending downwards, so we decided to go see where it lead.

By doing that, we walked even farther, not running into any of our classmates.

Usually we would've by now. But nooooo. Idiotic me decided to down a trail that leads to Terebithia.

"You would be the one who still believes in that," He chuckles.

What?

"You speak your thoughts, Princess."

Shit.

"You take the lead! I don't know where we're going, and you sure don't look like you going to do anything about it," I complain.

He gives me one last look and starts walking down another trail to our right.

After hiking for five minutes, we're back at out normal route.

"H-How?"

"Sweetheart, this campsite is one giant circle."

I'm so close to back handing him.

"Austin, Avery, care to explain why you're the last of the groups to arrive?" Mr. Adams asks.

"Nope," I nonchalantly say, and take my seat on a log next to Katie and her partner.

"Austin?" He continues, considering I walked away.

"Do I ever?" With that he takes his seat next to me.

Mr. Adams huffs and continues with the lesson from the scavenger hunt.

"Okay, so the group that won the hunt is; Libby and April!"

No. One. Cares.

"Hah, two geeks in the class," Austin whispers to me.

I elbow him in the stomach, which results in him grunting in pain.

The two girls squeal and are told the reward was that they don't have to come to the next lesson which is on Wednesday.

Tomorrow everyone gets a free day.

What's the point of some geography trip if all you do is walk around and learn absolutely nothing?

Once we are dismissed, I start walking back to the cabin I'm forced to share.

'You could always sleep outside, you know.' My mind speaks.

No. Thank you.

"Avery, where are you going?" Austin shouts as I'm walking.

I turn around; "Where does it look like I'm going?"

"C'mon, there's going to be a fun 'party' at Noah's cabin."

"Well then go. Some of us need beauty sleep," I remark.

"Clearly you do."

I scoff at him and start walking back to our cabin where I can get a good nights rest.
