Once I arrive at his SUV, I unlock the doors, putting my bags in the very back.
He can pack his own shit and put it away.
I begin to twirl the keys around my index finger as I press the lock button on the inside of the driver side door.
The keys eventually fly off my finger as I'm walking back up the trail to the main cabin where breakfast is being served.
"Fuck my life," I mumble, seeing how they flew into the mass of trees and greenery.
I have the slightest idea of where to begin to look.
I step over a few branches and twigs to begin looking for something I'd probably never find.
Shit.
Austin will kill me if I don't find these damn keys, and I'm not in the mood to fight with his arrogant ass.
Cautiously stepping over the unusual leaves, not knowing the difference between a normal lead and poison ivy.
Shows how much attention I pay in class, right?
"What in God's name are you doing?" A far too familiar voice asks.
Dammit.
I turn around and smile sheepishly at Austin, who seemed to pick up Noah along the way.
"Hey guys, long time no see, huh?" I awkwardly ask, clearly avoiding his question.
"Avery, I saw you 10 minutes ago."
I clear my throat, "That was a long 10 minutes!"
He rolls his eyes and Noah has a smug look of amusement on his face.
Way to fucking go, Avery.
"So, what are you really doing?" Austin asks.
I attempt to think of a dumb excuse.
"Well," I chuckle, "You see..."
Austin raises an eyebrow.
"You see, I um, saw a rabbit run through!"
"A rabbit?" Noah questions.
"Yes, why else would I be in here?" I ask, grinning at the both of them.
"Well, whatever helps you sleep at night Princess," Austin smirks, as Noah turns to head to the main cabin.
I turn back around to search for the keys until a voice whispers in my ear, "I'm sure you'll find my keys before we have to leave."
I hate you Austin Mahone.
After about 10 minutes of searching, I spot the keys. The sun glared off of one of the silver keys.
Hurrying towards the cabin, all of the seats are filled as I look around.
I just grab an apple off the counter and head outside where a few other people were.
After I've taken a few bites, someone asks, "What's it like? Rooming with Austin?" I hear slight amusement in the tone.
I turn to the boy, having no idea who he was. Since when was he in our class?
I raise an eyebrow. He must've picked up because he spoke again.
"Sam."
"Avery," I nod, giving a small smile, "It's, well, interesting to say the least."
He chuckles, "I thought what's-his-name had everyone assigned to cabins so that there were no boys and girls combined?"
I take another bite of my apple, and assume the "what's-his-name" is Mr. Adams.
