Chapter ten

Hold on, everything is going to be alright

Pain is beautiful. Have you wondered how something so painful can be turned into something so lyrically beautiful like a song or a painting? And how funny is it when in someone else's pain we find our hope. – Life being told by a teen

If this was another case, I would have made my questions without a hesitation. I wouldn't have to worry about their feelings because that just wasn't in my list. I wouldn't care because at the end of day, I was going to get paid. But since this was Theresa I had to be careful. My head was at stake. No matter how practical I wanted to be I couldn't. My mind constantly worried how Josh and Theresa would react. Suddenly their emotions were important to me. I had two months and only two days had passed. The two of the longest day ever. So many things happened. So much had I felt in these two days? These two days had been a turmoil of emotions for me.

I wanted to end this trip. I was exhausted. I decided to go Theresa's house because I had to sort things out. I had to keep up my will power.

I rang the doorbell, this time I told my driver to go because I intended to stay as long as I could.

Theresa's mom opened the door. She smiled widely at me. For a second I thought that she didn't believe I was here. '

"Anna thank you so much. I never thought you would come back. "

I hugged her. I assured her that I wasn't going to give up on this. A little part of me knew, I wasn't going to give up on her daughter.

"I brought cake." I lifted my hand.

"Theresaaaa, come downstairs! Look who is here?"

"Mother nature?" Theresa rolled her eyes. She slowly came downstairs. I could clearly see her emotions. First curiosity. Then scowl and lastly anger.

"You"

"Hi it's me..."

"The bitch. I know."

"I meant what are you doing here?"

"I am here because of the project."

"Oh the lame American thing."

"Be good to her Theresa. She is our guest. " Her mom scolded. "So.. How are you Theresa?" I asked in hope for a normal answer.

"Dying. " Her mom scowled at her. I was just freezed in my position.

To change the subject, I lifted my hands and said:

"I brought cake. I hope you like it."

"Too bad, I am lactose intolerant."

"Since when?" Her mom asked surprised.

"But your report said that you were only allergic to peanuts." I said looking straight her into her eyes.

Theresa bit her lower lip speechless and glared at me. I knew that I had won this one.

Her mom disappeared to the kitchen with the cake.

"Fine. You think you know so much. Stupid Anna."

For the first time, she said my name. I didn't know if I should be happy or taken aback.

She ran upstairs to her room. And I followed her. I was starting think it was a bad idea to come back. Maybe I could just give up.

She left her room door open. And not slam it like she did it the last time. I thought as an invitation to her room. But this was Theresa here! She wouldn't anything unexpected. She was the unexpected.
