Robert's Point of View

Chapter Five 

Oh my god she is going to kill me. What the hell was she doing here? How did she even know Elizabeth was here? I thought Carmen said she won’t be back until a couple more days, I thought to myself. I watched Elizabeth’s facial expression and she too was lost for words, if she knew who and what her mum really did I think she would have freaked out to the point where she would not recover. I could hear Elizabeth’s heartbeat begin to accelerate and I saw beads of sweat began to build up on her forehead, I knew she was about to faint compared to her mother who was completely calm. I focused my stare on her to see if I could get into her mind and what I saw shocked me, she was showing me images of what she did to my kind and what she was going to do to me when she got me alone. The truth was she hunted vampires and werewolves with a secret department in the White House. I then slowly began to back away from Elizabeth because I could feel the anger emanating off of her mum, he mother then walked slowly around Elizabeth and came face-to-face with me and she then held out her hand and said. “Hello I am Elizabeth’s mother Rebecca, and you are?” I then held out my hand to meet hers but I stopped and spoke first, “My name is Robert called Rob by many.” I said and reached out and grabber her hand, I felt my hand began to burn but i pulled it away before it made a sizzling sound. Her hand had to be soaked in mistletoe that was the only thing that could cause me that immense amount of pain. *So he’s one of them! I need to get him from far away from my daughter as possible and find the rest of his family* Rebecca thought as she simply smiled at me. For someone putting on a fake show she was really good at it. I tried my best not to make any more eye contact with her but she seemed to looking into my absent soul. “What are you doing here mum?” Elizabeth asked fiercely finally speaking after her little trance, I kept focussing on Rebecca’s mind but all I kept seeing was how she was planning to get rid of my family including myself. I was actually scared, scared of this human who was nothing compared to me. “Mother I asked you a question! What are you doing here I thought u and who ever in the White house had to deal with some kind of outbreak?” Elizabeth asked clearly getting impatient, I could see it on her face; finally Rebecca answered, “Yes we did handle the outbreak but it seems that we make have to deal with a second kind of outbreak. Well I decided I will come back early a surprise you but you were not home, so I decided to call Drew to see if you were with him but you were not and his exact words were ‘check the hospital if not there see if her pathetic boyfriend has he in the morgue yet.’ Care to explain what he meant by that?” Rebecca asked looking at me with hate and caution in her eyes, my facial expression hardened at what Drew said. I swear I was going to deal with him personally when I got home,” So do you want to tell me why you are in here or do I have to force it out of you?” Rebecca asked in a serious tone. I tried to place images in Elizabeth’s mind to tell her what to say but she was too distracted. *I am sure he is the reason why she was in here, why could he not just leave my baby along. I swear I’m going to kill him in the worst was possible.* Rebecca thought as she stood there still waiting for an answer. “Mother can we talk when we get home? Rob’s car is here, do you need a ride back to the house or something?” Elizabeth asked trying to be as kind as possible but I could see through her charade I was hoping her mother didn’t. “No I have my care here so you can ride with me and he could go home.” Rebecca said while shooting me death glares. *This woman was seriously out for blood* I thought to myself, “Actually Rob and I need to talk so we will just meet you back at the house in a few, so you can leave now.” Elizabeth said while motioning her hand towards the exit. As Rebecca exited all I wanted to do was call my family and tell them about her but I couldn’t let Elizabeth go home with her. The woman is practically a psycho, “Robbie come on your mum and dad are waiting.” Elizabeth said tugging me out the door. We were then out the hospital door hand in hand, I then pulled her closer to my body and wrapped my arms around her, “This is going to take some getting used to.” Elizabeth said as we approached my car. “What is?” I asked already know the answer to my question , “It’s just I’m going to be known as the girl who left a Hale and in less than a week I’m with a Dawn it’s going to give me a bad name.” Elizabeth said while fidgeting with her hands. I knew she always took what people said about her to heart and I was not going to put her through this, I then ran ahead to my car and opened the door on the passenger side for Elizabeth. “Oh what a gentleman you are,” Elizabeth said with a huge smile on her face from ear to ear. I simply winked and closed the door before placing her bags in the trunk and getting into the driver’s seat. As I pulled out of the drives seat and onto the highway Lizzy’s heartbeat began to speed up, “Love what’s wrong?” I asked worried, “Oh nothing maybe the fact that we are in a 50 mph zone and you are going almost 200.” Elizabeth answered sarcastically; slowly I released my foot from the gas and was now going at an exact 50 mph. “Elizabeth you don’t have to worry about the car crashing.”  I exclaimed with a smile on my face, “No, I’m not worried! I’m very calm.” She said while releasing her grip from the side of the seat. “Sure so explain to me why you heartbeat is going faster than my car?” I asked with an ear to ear smile, “Oh shush, so would you like to go into more detail about you and your family?” I looked over to Elizabeth and saw her tense up. “Robert get your eyes back on the road!” Elizabeth screamed, I could see the tears beginning to form in her eyes and I could not bear to see her cry so I focused my eyes back on the road. “When we were in the woods Angel and I had this feeling that someone was following us and we were right, it was Drew. He came out and told me we needed to stay away from you. That’s when it happened, without thinking I attacked him and that’s when we found out we were different. When we got home we called Carmen and Dylan and they told us that’s how were born and it activated when I attacked him. If you don’t mind I don’t wanna talk about it anymore some other time I will see to it that I explain more.” I said trying to calm down as I drove. “Wait so Drew is the real reason why you’re like this?” Elizabeth asked angrily, “Why do you think I hate him so much! If he was never there that night I might have still been me. Nothing else could have got me angry to cause the change.” I explained releasing my grip on the steering wheel a bit. “I thought you did not like him because he is my ex, he is also your ex-best friend and the main reason is because he is a werewolf.” I then slammed the brakes, thank god Elizabeth was wearing her seatbelt else she would have gone straight through the windscreen. “He’s a WHAT?” I screamed to the top of my voice, “No need to get loud with me.” Elizabeth whispered as if she was afraid. “I’m sorry Elizabeth I did not mean to yell at you. Are you sure he is that what you refer to?” I asked hoping that it was not the truth, “Come on I must be sure, and he changed right in front of me. I can’t even get the image out of my head.” Elizabeth said while rubbing her temples. “If only I could see you thoughts,” I whispered to myself, “What do you mean see my thoughts?” Elizabeth asked I was hoping she did not hear me. “Yeah it’s something I can do also I can influence people to do things they do not want to do. That’s what I have been doing to you to try and get you to eat in the hospital.” I explained already seeing the anger building up in Elizabeth’s face, “Never make me do that again!” she said trying to sound calm but I knew she was pissed. “I apologize. Do you really wanna go home now?” I asked hoping that she didn’t. “I am in no rush; I mean come on it’s my mum we are talking about. So we’re going to your house I presume?” Lizzy asked with tiredness in her voice. I watched her as she slowly closed down her eyes and she finally fell asleep. I then stepped on the gas and sped off to my home to lay Elizabeth to sleep, as I got off the freeway and pulled into our drive way I picked up a familiar scent, it was a vampire but not one I knew. I then got out of the car and cradled Elizabeth in my arms. As I entered the house I saw two male vampires sitting on the couch, they were twins. “Dylan?” I simply said not wanting to call him dad since in sounded weird; he was at my side within a split second. “Yes son?’ Dylan asked sounding polite as ever. “I see we have guests?” I said placing a nod towards them. “Actually they are now part of our family, I would like to introduce you to your brothers Nicholas and Evan Cole.” I was in a bit of shock I had two new brothers I already had a sister who was annoying and now I have two brothers. “It’s nice to meet you. If you will excuse me for a bit as I place my girlfriend up in my room.” I explained as I sped off upstairs to my room. I laid her on my bed and watched her as she slept, I wanted this to last forever, “Robert can you come down here for a minute please, we need to talk.” Dylan asked while killing my mood. I placed a kiss on Elizabeth’s forehead and was downstairs in the family room, “Dylan is everything alright?” I asked trying not to make eye contact with the new ‘family’ members. “Well as you see our family has new additions and we do not have enough bedrooms to accommodate them so…” Dylan then paused, “We’re moving!” I finished his sentence for him, “Yes I think it’s best if we move to a bigger house so we all can be comfortable in our own room and personal space don’t you think?” Dylan asked with his eyes focused on me waiting for a response. “Um… exactly where is this new house located?” I asked very concerned now. “Well it’s a 3 day flight but we would like to drive. So at the rate we will be driving the average amount of time it will take us including stopping for gas give or take a 2 day drive.” Dylan said and then exited the room. How am I to leave the love of my life behind and move I just can’t do that? Slowly I heard a heartbeat begin to speed and I knew she was waking up. I ran up the stairs skipping 2 and 3 at a time, when I opened the door Lizzy was lying on the bed awake but so quiet. “Elizabeth?” I said softly as I approached her, she looked at me and a smile appeared on her face. “Hey,” she said sounding a bit sleep still. “So do you wanna spend the night or do you want me to drop you home?” I asked hoping that she would spend the night, “Well as I said I’m in no rush to see my mum so I guess I can stay but don’t you have to run it by Mrs Dawn first?” “Please call me Carmen and it’s no problem if you spend the night” Carmen said as she walked in the bedroom. “Don’t worry mom we won’t be doing anything wrong.” I said with a smile on my face. “Better has not and Elizabeth dear please call your mum and tell her about the sleeping arrangements and then come down for a bite to eat.” Carmen instructed as she left the room. I then took Elizabeth’s arm and escorted her down the stairs. I then sat her by the table and placed a plate of noodles and vegetables in front of her, slowly she began to eat but she was only watching me. “Well look who’s finally up, how did you sleep Elizabeth?” Dylan asked as he walked into the kitchen, “I slept great thanks for asking Mr Dawn.” Elizabeth said while finishing her food. “Please call me Dylan, by the way did Robert tell he has two brothers now? It’s a shame we have to move, we need more space to accommodate them.” Dylan said as he sat at the table, this infuriated me I already made it clear I was not going to leave Elizabeth. “I’m not moving!” I practically yelled at him.
