After 5 minutes a car stopped in front of me. I didn't even check if it was him, I opened the passenger door and got in.
Sitting burned my ass so much and it made me even more mad.
"Can you tell me what happened, Leigh?" Adam said, looking at me and starting the car
"You were right, Adam. Robert had been a druggie all along. He lied to me. I should of listened to you. I'm sorry "
I said and started crying again
"It's okay, Leigh. I know he's a piece of shit, you just have to forget him. You can stay with me all the time you want."
I stayed at Adam's new place for a few days, but then decided to go back to Boston.
I had changed number because I couldn't bare denying all of Robert's calls.
I had moved in a new and smaller apartment. It was nice because in my room there was a window with a fire escape. I spent most of my time there, my feet dangling, a cigarette between my fingers.
I felt like Audrey Hepburn in breakfast at tiffanies. Only more depressed and emotional.
I had totally stopped eating, or doing anything useful for myself.
I had stopped answering my calls, because I couldn't talk to Adam. He was too worried and it made me anxious. When I wasn't out on the fire escape I was taking a shower.
I usually "slept" there too.
It was soothing to hear the cars pass by and the people talking.
I could only manage to sleep for 3 hours at night though.
On New Year's I just went up on the roof with a blanket and a six pack of beers and watched the fireworks from there. I got shit face drunk and ended up throwing everything up. Like always.
Adam and Ed tried calling me but i didn't answer. I basically stopped talking to everyone.
Once the vacations finished, I got a few calls from Jeremy Strong , Vera, and the directors. But given the fact I had already finished shooting my parts, they just mailed me the money at home and that was the end of it.
A month later I came back to Boston I knew I had to get a job.
And I did.
It wasn't anything classy. I was just a normal waitress at a Starbucks near my new place.
People seemed to recognize me from GG but nobody really cared.
Working with food was really hard though, because it made me nauseous and the little food i ate I always threw up.
Four months later, when I got back home after work, I found Ed sitting on the steps in front of my building.
I could only imagine what I looked like in his eyes. I barely slept, and ate basically nothing. Me and my clothes both smelt of cigarettes and dry alcohol. But when he saw me, he smiled at me and hugged me anyways.
He followed me up to my apartment, which was perfect because I hardly ever used anything or touched anything.
"Leigh?" He said once he sat down on my couch. He was looking at me intensely.
"Yeah?" I said, he got up and walked towards me
"You look like you haven't had a meal or proper sleep in ages." He said, I shrugged.
"You need to get over him. Leigh. You do" he said.
He turned on the tv, running through the channels until he came upon gossip.
He let me sit in front of the tv, and told me to wait. He sat next to me.
I was confused, until the woman on the tv started talking about HIM.
She showed pictures of him leaving a club with a girl. Then another photo of him leaving a club with two beautiful women. The pictures went on and on and the women changed. I felt like throwing up. He had forgotten me.
"He's a piece of shit, Leigh. You need to get over him." He said, grabbing my hand.
I nodded, feeling a tear escape my eye.
"Get dressed, I'm taking you out"
