Just A Sprain

Kirk sat there and held his arm out to Bones.

"It hurts quite a bit. It's gotta be broken."

Bones shook his head, "Surprisingly it's just a sprain. It will be much better in a few days. I'll set you up with a brace." He walked away.

Kirk smiled at Kylie, "See? I'm fine."

She laughed and shook her head at him. He always tried making her feel better when he didn't need to.

Bones came back and put a brace on his arm. "Keep that on for about two to three days. You can take it off when you shower, but not when you sleep." He patted Kirk's back and walked away.

Kirk hopped off the medical table, took Kylie's hand in his good one and walked back to the bridge.

-------------------------------------------------

I held Kirk's hand with both of mine at first, our fingers intertwined. Carol walked out from around a corner.

"Kirk, are you okay?"

He nodded, "I'm fine."

She hopped to the other side of him and held his arm in her hands. "So what was wrong?"

"It was actually just a bad sprain." I told her with a hint of attitude. I didn't like her here.

She seemed to ignore me when she said, "I told you it was a sprain."

He pulled his arm away from her. "No. You said it was a break."

She giggled a little, "No I didn't sweetie. I said it was probably a sprain."

That set me off. I wanted her gone. "Carol, don't you have somewhere to go?" I snapped.

"Don't tell me what to do." She snapped back.

I stopped walking and stepped in front of Kirk and turned to her. "Then don't be flirting with my boyfriend. And another thing, I'm ranked above you. I can tell you what to do."

Kirk pulled my arm and I stepped into him like he wanted. "Woah girls. Calm down. Carol, go back to work. Kylie... Just... Calm down, sweetie."

She gave me a glare that I returned and smiled at him, and batted her eyes a little. "Yes, of course."

She walked off and I continued my glare.

"I don't like her. At all."

Kirk intertwined his fingers in mine again and pulled me off. "I know. She's really... Irritating."

-------------------------------------------------

Carol pulled out a phone again and started talking.

"Issue. He's not giving in to me. Even when I flirt. She's always with him. I can't get him alone."

"Then kill her. If you can't get him alone in the next twenty-four hours, KILL HER!" The voice sneared.

Carol nodded to herself. "I think I might have a plan. I'll try it tonight."

"Good. Just get him."

"I will, Khan. I will." She hung up and walked to where she was supposed to be working.
