Chapter 10: Boys Night

Avalon's P.O.V.

I couldn't stop thinking about what Alicia said. And then Kori comes over and kind of confirms it. Like what the hell? I don't even dress like a guy? Why would people think I'm not straight. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against those types of people but I'm not one of them. I noticed the teacher had started talking so I tried my best to pay attention. I can't ruin my perfect grades if I want to get into Stanford.

Everything up until lunch was pretty boring but of course I paid attention in class. I had to talk to Kori about all of this. I need to come up with a plan to convince people that I'm straight.

(Lunch Time)

I saw Kori rushing into the cafeteria and I'm sure she was avoiding me.

"Kori come here!!"

She stopped at the doorway, and didn't even try to run knowing I run way faster than her. I even run faster than Damian so I'm pretty proud of my running skills.

"Yes?" She asked

"We need to talk about this."

"Talk about what?"

"Don't act dumb!! About people thinking, you know, that I like girls."

"Ooohh that"

"Yeah, come on let's go get our food"

We found a table and sat down.

"So who thinks I'm, you know"

"Well Alicia started this rumor in the seventh grade s-"

"WHAT! In the seventh grade? How come I just found out now?"

"Because I have done my best to keep that rumor away from you." She smiled like she had just saved my ice cream from falling. I can't help but feel a little mad at her for not telling me, but I understand why she did it. I mean I probably would have done the same.

"Also, before the bell rang earlier you said Alicia saw me as a threat. A threat to what?"

"Oh you know, you get pretty popular by playing sports a-and with you being a girl, you know, she probably thinks you're gonna be more popular."

"Well I don't really care about being popular. So I need to come up with a plan to convince people I'm straight."

"Do you have anything in mind?"

"Weeeel-" just as I was about to tell her my plan, the bell rang and we had to go to our classes.

(After School)

I walked to the back of the gym right after I put all my books away. I just wanted to go home, have some food and tell Kori about my plan. But I guess hanging out with the guys will be fun too. hen I reach the back of the gym I'm shocked t see the one and only... Alicia? Standing with Damian. What? She saw me staring at her and smiled at me. Well she was getting a real kick out of this. But I am not going to let her ruin my monday afternoon like she did to my morning.

"So Av, I thought Alicia could join us, since she's my girlfriend."

Hold Up.

What?

Last time I checked they went on one date. They can't be rushing into things. Although I did kiss Ross and I've only known him for like three days. God I sound like a hypocrite. We all waited quietly until all the guys (Ethan, Reese, Kyle, Leo, and Austin) came. We decided that we were going to go to the park, play some sports then go to Mr. Pizza, our favorite pizza place, and hang out for a while.

When we got to the park I acted like a little kid on christmas morning. I can't help myself, I love running around and being free. Our first game was basketball and we played in two teams. Kyle, Leo, Austin and I played against Damian, Reese and Ethan. Alicia decided that she was going to be the cheerleader. After an hour, my team won and I was being carried away on Kyle and Leo's shoulders, while Damian, Reese, and Ethan had frowns on their faces.

"They so let you win" I heard Alicia yell from her bench, but I ignored it because I knew we won fair and square. After that we played soccer, football, and kickball with our same teams. We won soccer and kickball, but in my defense, there's a reason I'm not allowed on the school's football team. I'm too skinny, so you can imagine me being tackled by all these guys.

We left soon after to go get pizza because it was getting late and I still had homework. We talked for about and hour and then Austin invited everyone back to our house to spend the night. Of course Alicia declined and left soon after, but Kyle, Ethan, Leo, and Damian all came over. Fortunately they said they wouldn't bug me so I would have some space.

When we got home it was 8:23 so I decided to work on my homework. When I finished, it was 9:48 so I decided to shower. I locked my bedroom door this time, not wanting what happened yesterday to happen again. That would be way more embarrassing because there are way more boys in the house this time. After I got out of the shower, I put on some super short shorts, which I only wore at home, when I was alone. and a tank top.

I really needed to sleep after a long day, but first thing at school tomorrow is to get Kori to help me with my plan.
