I open my eyes to sunshine filling the room. It's Monday already and... Oh no, Mike's coming today! I get up, gotta fetch him from the station...

I can't believe this is happening... Yesterday I broke up with Logie... I had to. Thank you, Dinah! Thank you very much for telling Mike about everything. Well, almost everything...

I look at my engagement ring, I'm still wearing it. I haven't taken it off since Logan slipped it on my finger. Wow, it was almost one year ago! Ahh... If only we could be together. I don't wanna take the ring off, I feel sort of protected whenever I look at it. Yeah, protected and loved...

I hope Logan is okay. Oh... I know I hurt him yesterday, it was very painful to see him crying so hard... But I really wanna make him safe. I hope he soon forgets about me... Although a part of me doesn't wanna him to do this... I gotta move on.

I take a taxi and soon I arrive at the station. Mike's here already, waiting.

"Hey, Nessie," he drops his luggage to hug me. "I thought you forgot I'm coming..."

"Hey, Mike," I reply, feeling uncomfortable in his arms. "No, I didn't forget, could I?"

"What took you so long, then?" he asks suspiciously. "Is this guy..."

"No," I cut him off instantly. "He's not here and he's not coming. I broke up with him," I say harshly, trying to sound carelessly, although it's hard for me.

"Oh," Mike replies, putting on a fake, sad expression. "I think you did the right thing. I won't let him hurt you anymore, Nessie. You're too perfect for a guy like him, you really deserve better."

The last sentence makes me furious. I heard it every single time I 'was in love' with a guy who 'loved me' as well. Logan was my very first boyfriend, because no one wanted to date me before - 'cause 'I'm too perfect and deserve better'. This time, hearing Mike saying these words about Logan, they do not only infuriate me. They hurt, they hurt so much...

"Whatever," I say carelessly. "Let's go to the hotel, the taxi's waiting."

Mike takes his luggage and puts it in the trunk. We get into the car and head straight to the hotel.

Once we're there, Mike gets his key and soon we find ourselves in his room.

"Wow. I like it," Mike says, looking around. "So, where do you think we should go after I'm done with unpacking? Huh? Nessie, can you hear me?" he waves his hand in front of my eyes.

"Huh? Ah, sorry," I snap out of my thoughts. Can't help thinking of you, Logie-bear...

"What's going on?" Mike asks, frowning.

"Oh, I was just thinking about what we can do today," I lie to him.

"So, any ideas?" Mike starts unpacking his enormous suitcase.

"I think we can hang out in the City Square and then we'll have dinner in the bar we went to last year," I suggest, putting on a fake smile.

"Sounds fine," I hear Mike say. "I can't wait!"

"Glad to hear that," I let out a sigh. "We'll have fun."

Ehh... It's gonna be the longest two weeks ever...
