Lani pov.
I felt heaviness on my eyes. I was waking up. From what I thought was a dream until I felt the sharp pains.
"Ooow."I turned over trying to regain my focus and lose the blur.
As I got my focus back I could see a figure in the corner. It had to be 6 something. The sun was just coming up.
My vision started working correctly
"Joseph?"
He sniffed but didn't look up
"Joseph where is your dad. "
He sniffed again. No response
I managed to get myself up. It was hard. Everything hurt.
"Joseph..."
When he look up there were so many bruises.
"Oh my god...."
His face was teared. So blank like he couldn't cry anymore. He face was puffy and eyes swollen.
I touched his shoulder when my phone started ringing.
I got up searching for it.
I threw the covers and ripped pieces of clothing on the floor.
Finally seeing it half way under the bed
I picked it up.
"Jay...jay-"
I answered it quickly , "JAY!-"
"Lani wtf. I have been calling you since last night why haven't you answered the phone ?!?!"
"Jay I-" I started crying I couldn't take it.
"Lani what's wrong what happened?"
"Come home please"
"Baby I left you a message. I'm stuck at work until 12."
"NO COME HOME NOW!!YOU HAVE TO JAY PLEASE!"
"....ok..ill be right there. Baby I'm coming"
I dropped the phone falling to my knees

I sat on the bed naked.
I tried to cover myself with my arms
I felt like a whore.
"Ok since I still think you haven't learned your lesson. Your gonna do me a favor. Can you cook?"
I looked up, "no....."
"Well looks like your gonna learn. Get up."
I looked down
"I SAID GET UP!" He grabbed me by my arm. Dragging me out the room.
