Dylan POV
Everyone was here at the picnic table eating watermelon and having fun.
"You really want to do this Bailey?" Mr. Feder asked.
"My five against your five."
"Oh, I see the boys stayed in shape huh?"
*********
"We just want to relax."
"See they're afraid of us."
"We're afraid you'll eat the ball before we start." My dad says making us laugh.
"Same old Higgins. You can talk the talk but you can't...I forget the rest."
"We got Rob here with the bad foot. You can't play can ya Rob."
"I think coach would want me to try. I think if the Buzzer was here, he would want me to try, I think he'd want us all to try. "
"Was that William Chattner? Alright, let's do this then."
"Its on." Said some guy with a full body cast on.
I sat in the grass with the rest of the kids. I made sure to sit next to Greg. I don't know if he was trying to ignore me or he was just really interested in the game. But either way, I took his hand and held it.
He looked at them for a minute before letting go and interlocking them. He looked at me and gave me a kiss on the cheek.
"Guys! Look!" We all turned and saw the guys walking up in orange shirts and blue shorts. Mr. McKenzie steps on Rob's foot though.
Then the moms came out in some cheer leading uniform things.
The game starts and were making our point. Then the other team does. Our team does motion 78, my dad has the ball and moves it around then passed it to Mr. Lamonsoff. He passes it to Mr. McKenzie, but it hits his head and it goes to Mr. Feder, where he shoots and scores.
My dad makes a shot next. Then some guy with weird eyes. Then Rob scores. Really the whole game is the teams scoring back and forth. Soon Mr. Lamonsoff and some other guy has 'injuries'.
"What do you say we bring my son and your son into this?" Mr. Feder says to Bailey.
"Come on."
Mr. Feder turns to Greg and smiles once he sees our hands together.
"Greggie?"
"Me?" Greg says pointing to himself.
"You got this Greg." I said and kiss him on the cheek before he gets up and walks on the court.
We make the shot first and I'm cheering so loud. Greg smiles over at me and winks his cute little eyes.
Bailey makes it next, but his foot was on the line. Mr. Feder let it pass though.
"Next basket wins!"
Mr. Feder is at the spot where he doesn't miss. He's looking around. Taking in everything. He shoots and he doesn't score. Bailey gets the ball and scores.
We didn't win, but its okay. Its just a game.
