"Mama! Mama!" I hear Kamden yell through the house. I get off the living room couch and run up the steps to see what all this yelling was about.

"Yes, son?" I stand in his doorway with my hand on my hip.

"My daddy outside. He said he gon take me to the movies," he pouts.

"Why you look sad about it? Do you wanna go?"

He shrugs his shoulders and sit on the edge of his bed staring off into space. I recognize that look all too well. I sit beside him and pull him into me kissing his head.

"You don't have to go if you don't want to, Kam," I say holding in my anger. If my baby is acting the way I did when I was younger, something has happened to him and Cantrell had to be the muhfuckka behind it.

"I'll go. He gon get mad if I don't," Kam sighs walking toward the door and down the steps. I follow close behind to make him feel a little more at ease.

Seeing how uncomfortable my baby was had me questioning my parenting. Did he show these signs before? When did this start? Why didn't he tell me if something happened?

We made it to the front door where Cantrell was leaned on the hood of his car puffing on a Newport. The sight of him made my stomach turn. I guess that's how it be when you get a real man in ya life. No other nigga even compared to Rico.

"Wussuh lil patna? You ready to go chill wit cha real pops?" Cantrell smiled in my direction. I rolled my eyes and folded my arms across my chest. Then I started to get this ominous feeling. Cantrell was being a lil too nice with his words.

Kamden looked at me with puppy dog eyes. It was the same look I would give Yolanda when I wanted her to save me. I'm saving my baby.

"KamBam, you sure you feel ok to go? You've been throwing up all morning. It would be a shame if you threw up in Cantrell's car," I wink at Kam.

He tried to hide his sly smirk and grabbed his stomach. "Mama, I'm so sick. I'm hot and cold at the same time. All I wanna do is sleep."

"If you sick, then you can keep ya ass here. You throw up in my shit and you gon catch some hands," Cantrell raised up. I knew it was only a matter of time.

Kam ran back in the house fake gagging and I turned to walk away.

"Say, Kai. I need to tell you sumn," Cantrell stopped me.

I rolled my eyes turning to face him. I couldn't read his face at all. It was like he was scared or something.

"What chu want, bruh?" I change my posture to boss mode. He was just any nigga on the streets to me now.

"You need to call ya dawgs off me. They followin me everywhere and this shit gon cause a war if it don't stop. My boss don't play no games," he smirked at the last part.

"The fuck you talkin bout? I ain't got nobody followin you. You the last muhfuckka on my mind. But since you like games, tell ya boss to come see me. I'm never hard to find," I smirk. I really didn't have anybody following that bum. I had an idea of who did though.

"Gimme kiss witcha fine ass," Cantrell walks towards me.

I back away just as Rico pulls into the driveway. "These lips on my face and below my waist belong to a real man, so gon on to ya wife," I walk into the house. I was not finna get caught up ever again.

I had to find out who the hell this "boss" of his was. He was supposed to be working for Roman. What the fuck happened to that? I pick up the phone and call Roman's cell. I get sent to voicemail, so I decided to call my uncle, Ghost.

"Wussuh, Kai? Sumn wrong?" he answers immediately.

"Nah, unc, I just have a couple questions I need answered. Is Cantrell still working for you and Roman?"

"Why you worried about that mark ass nigga?" I could hear him grind his teeth.

"I'm not. He just said some stuff that had me thinking. He said his boss was gonna want war if something happens to him," I sigh into the phone. Times like this I hate my pops quit. This shit would've been handled already.

Ghost sighs hard. I could hear the stress in the heavy breath. "Kai. The nigga was foul. He was stealing from me and he did you wrong. He need to be gracious he still breathing. That nigga gon get his though. If it was up to me he woulda been dead already."

"Why is he still breathing then? It wouldn't have made a difference whether he was here or not," I seeth.

"It's complicated. I know his boss though. You do too. Think about everything that happened. Let me handle it though."

"The actual eff, unc?! Just tell me!" I yelled making Rico and Kamden come to where I was. I almost forgot Rico was here.

"You soundin like Kendall," he laughed hanging up in my face.

I looked at the phone like it could mug back. Kamden came up to me giving me a hug before I could zone out. I wrapped my arms around my son feeling his warm skin against mine. He made me feel sane. Manic depression would've swallowed me whole if I didn't have him. I really need to find out who this boss is though.
