My breath comes out rapidly as I stumble backwards, shouts and screams surround me. Hands try and stop me from falling as my mother shouts out. She tries to reach me but, the maids push her back as they lay me down. The last thing I see is my mother screaming as she kneels down, a knife to her throat being pulled out the window by a hooded figure.
My vision fades before I can scream out to my mother her terrified face rests in my memory as I get pulled into a dreamless slumber. Slowly I open my eyes expectly to be in my room the curtains drawn to insure complete and utter safety from the outside. Instead light shines into the room almost blinding me, I've never looked straight into the sun, always wearing a cloak and sun glasses.
Confused I look around ; brown walls, two red sofas, a black desk, sitting at it is the castle doctors. Her black grey hair goes down to her shoulders the stubbed ends hang uselessly, her sky blue eyes flit across a piece of parchment while she mutters under her breathe.
" Excuse me, why am I in here?" I ask. She jumps up her papers scattering across the floor. I grimace as I sit up, I feel a headache coming on. The woman turns towards me seeing me her eyes widen.
"Your alright! Your alive!" she squeals running towards me she throws her arms around me embrassing me in a hug.
"What do you mean? I only passed out an hour or so ago." I say looking at the clock on her desk.
Slowly she says. "Ma lady you've been out for more than a month." The air in my lungs turn stale, my heart cold. It can't have been a month. No she is trying to trick me! The image of my mother being pulled out of the room the knife to her throat flashes through my mind. It can't be true!
"Who's rulling the kingdom?" I say startled, no one is on the throne. She grimaces, no no no no! It can't be.
