Valentine's Day! ❤️❤️❤️(part 5)

Nico:
I woke up to someone shaking me. I groaned and rubbed my eyes.

"What?" I whispered, still half asleep. I heard a sign and footsteps. The person walked away. I looked at my clock. It was 4 in the morning. I looked at my calendar, next to my clock.

February...14...special trip...with...

"Nico!" I whisper-screamed. I hop excitedly out of my bunk and landed as quietly as I could. Will was sitting in his bed, snickering. I huffed and shoved him off his lower bunk and walked away, smirking. Today, Nico told me he would take me somewhere and I couldn't wait to go!

I quickly got ready and zoomed outside. I went to the strawberry fields and saw Nico just sitting lazily on the grass, using his arms to support his body. He was petting something white. As I stepped closer, I notice the white thing was a bunch of bones...still held together...like a skeleton puppy.

I trudged quietly over to Nico. The pale boy looked up and smiled slightly. He got up and picked up the skeleton puppy. He held it out to me and blushed a little.

"Here, happy Valentine's Day. Her name is Bianca," Nico says shyly. I blush and take the little, bony creature into my arms. I let her head.

"Nico, you're so sweet. You also named her after your sister," I giggle and Nico just nods. I set the puppy down and runs away to the Apollo cabin. Nico takes hold of my hand suddenly. I blush at the sudden contact.

"Hold on tight," he whispered. Before I could say anything, I was surrounded by darkness. I gripped onto Nico's arm and I heard him chuckle.

"N-Nico..."I whimpered. It was cold and dark. Being the daughter of Apollo, I didn't like the dark, yet I was dating the son of the God of darkness and death.

"It's okay, I'm right here," I heard Nico say. I shuddered and I saw a gloomy shadow. I screamed and hopped onto Nico. He was now carrying me, bridal style. I blushed and looked at Nico. He was blushing too, but he was also smirking. I groaned and flared at Nico. His pearly skin glowed in the darkness.

"Y-you planned that...d-didn't you!" I huff, only earning a small chuckle from Nico.

"I love shadow traveling," Nico said, smirking.

I roll my eyes and hold onto him the whole rest of the time we shadow traveled. I finally see a bit of light. We were in some sort of mansion. I looked at the dark, gloomy walls and hopped off Nico. I grabbed his hand and clutched on it tightly.

"Welcome to the Underworld, Sunny," Nico said, presenting the dark hallway. He always calls me sunny and I let him.

"This is my dad's castle."

We walked around and I gasped. Even though it was pretty dark, I could still tell that it was filled with art pieces, wall decides, and fancy things. As I saw more and more, I had forgotten of my fear of darkness. I let go of Nico's hand and twirled around.

"Wow. This is a nice house," I sighed, admiringly. Nico nods and grabs my hand again.

"Let's go to the garden," Nico's eyes shone and sparkled with excitement. I giggle and let him drag me away.

I stepped outside the mansion and gasped. I looked around. The yard was filled with endless trees and gorgeous flowers. Nico bent down and picked a flower. It looked like a black rose. He used a bony finger and pushed a few locks of my (h/c) hair behind my ear. I blushed and Nico gently placed the flower in my hair.

"You look beautiful," Nico's cheeks flowed red. I giggle and blush, grabbing his hand.

"Thanks...you don't look to bad yourself," I giggle. Nico gave me another gentle smile and dragged me deeper into the garden. We spent a lot of time in the garden, just wandering around and talking. We finally exited the garden and Nico began dragging me somewhere again. I see a green light glow in the distance and Nico trudged towards it.

My eyes widened. It was a cave, made of large, expensive-looking gemstones. In the middle was a little oasis. The water was sparkling and clear. It reflected the glowing gemstones. There was grass surrounding the pond and a few trees next to it. My eyes watered and I turned to Nico.

"Nico...this is beautiful...thank you for taking me here," I blushed, sniffing a bit. Nico just blushed and nodded. He gently nudged me in and I walk towards the oasis with Nico following close behind me. I bent down and stuck my hand in the cool water. I grin as Nico squared next to me.

"Pretty cool, huh?" Nico laughs quietly, waving his hand around in the glowing water. I smile.

"Yeah..."

"I found this place only a few days ago and...I thought....you'd...like it," Nico's ears and cheeks were dusted with pink. I giggle at the sight and rolled my pants up to my knees and took off my shoes. I placed my leg into the water and lay on the grass. Nico did the same and lauded down next to me. I blush.

"I don't like it..." Nico frowned. "I love it!" I giggle and Nico huffed.

"Geez, you scared me."

"Hee hee! You're so cute!" I giggle. Nico just blushed and huffed again. We lay there in comfortable silence until Nico moves his leg out of the water. He shakes his leg dry and puts his shoes back on. He rolled his jeans back down to his ankle. I did the same and I get up. I guess it was time to go.

"Promise to bring me ba—mphf!"

Before I could finish my sentence, Nico grabbed my waist and smashed his cold lips onto my warmer ones. At first I was a bit shocked and my eyes widened. I then close my eyes and miss back. I smiled into the kiss and Nico sighed, his warm breath tickling my nose. I giggle, but then groaned when we both ran out of oxygen.

I looked at Nico and blushed, breathing harder than normal. A blush appeared on his thin face and he kissed me again. We pulled back and I smile a little.

"Thanks Nico, for today. I love you."

"I love you too. I'm glad you liked it."

I giggle and hop onto Nico as we disappeared into the shadows to go back home.
