The Day Is Here

Yesterday I didn't go to school. I wasn't in a great mood so I didn't feel like doing so. Today I'm gonna go to school because my parents say I should so that I spent my last days in Brighton happily. How can I spend happily some days while I know that I'll be leaving in less than two weeks?
I'm headed to school with Jordan and I'm not talking much! He tries hard to cheer me up by making jokes about Americans or telling me that we'll be talking every day etc. I haven't talked to Adam since the day I left from school running. Jordan tells me that these two days he's been waiting for me in the front school door to talk! When we arrive at school I see him standing there. I'm determined to go and talk to him today about our relationship and what will happen. I say hello and Jordan leaves so we start talking
"Hey" Adam says
"Hi, I need to explain myself" I answer
"Don't worry! Your friends explained me what's going on and what's about to happen"
"They did?" I say
"Yes, they told me that you're moving to USA next week. I have to say I was heartbroken when I found out" he says
"I wanted to talk to you about that...maybe it's better if we break up..." I say trying to avoid looking at his eyes
"Wait, what? Jade why? I was hoping that we could keep this relationship " he says
"I want to keep this relationship too, but is it possible?
"I think it is! At least we can try .... It will be successful only if we both want this! Do you want this?" He asks me
"Yes, of course I do! "
"Okay then, we're doing it!" He says
I admit that I feel kinda relieved because I didn't want this relationship to end. Maybe it's all for good...

The day is here! Today I'm flying for New York! I can't say that I'm excited or that I'm even ok. I didn't want to wake up this morning! I'm going downstairs and I see our house completely empty. Everything is in our house in the US since yesterday! This makes wanna start crying but I'm holding my tears inside! I still hope that my mom will cancel it last minute.
Yesterday I spent the whole day with my friends and Adam. We talked, laughed and even cried a bit together and we promised each other that we'll meet again and that we'll talk constantly on the phone!
My mom, my dad, my sister and I leave the house. We stop at Macy's (a local restaurant to have breakfast because our house had nothing obviously) and then we're headed to the airport! We get on our plane and start our 7-hour-flight for New York! When we arrive we take a taxi to go to the place where we're supposed to take our new car that dad bought while we were in Brighton!
We go to our new house and I'm the first to step in! Everything is ready here! Our furniture are here and mom says that our bedrooms are already made and that we need to see them.
I have to admit that the house is way bigger than our house in Brighton. I go upstairs, in the third floor (because our new house has 3 floors) to check my bedroom. When I step in my bedroom I'm surprised! First of all it's huge. It has its own bathroom and a room closet in which apparently my mom put already some new clothes when she came to first see the house. Secondly it is decorated exactly as I would want to decorate it! It had pictures from all over the world and some great posters. The colors are black, red and white which I totally adore! I have to admit that I love my new bedroom more than I did the old one but it still doesn't feel like home! I'll have to get used to it though!
I'm going downstairs and find my mom and my dad talking to my sister when they see me there.
"Jade, what do you think of your new room?" Dad says
"Well it's extremely nice and I love it but you know, its style reminds me that I'm not in Brighton!" I answer
"I know but you'll get used to it easily!" My mom says
"We'll see that." I answer
"I'm gonna go to find a place to grab some food until we go shopping in the afternoon " dad says
"Oh yes! I'm starving" mom says
"Do you want to come with me so you'll get to know the are a bit better?" Dad asks me
"Yeah, I guess that's good!" I answer
We leave the house and we start driving when we see a place called Burger King on the street! I've heard of it before but we didn't have one of those in England so we decide to stop there and grab some burgers to eat!
* I have to say that everything here feels so different. And don't make me mention the accent! It's different to what I'm used to! That's something I'll never get used to here! *
We grab our food and go back in our car! We go back to our house and have lunch all together! Suddenly my phone rings. I excuse myself and run to pick it up. It's Jordan!
"Hey Jade! How's it going? How was your flight? Is your new house nice? What do you think of New York?" He asks in one breath
"Woah slow down! I'll tell you everything! My flight was okay. My new house is very big and really cool, I'll send you pics of it. New York seems pretty nice, although I just went out to grab lunch, but the accent here can drive me nuts" I say
"Haha I was sure about it. I miss you Jade!" He says
"I miss you too! It sucks that I can't see you now. " I say
"Gotta go cause it's way past midnight here so I need to get some sleep because I have a history test tomorrow. Good luck on your new school tomorrow. Call me when you get back!" He says
"Okay, thanks! Good luck on your test! Bye!!"
I hang up and the next minute my phone rings again! It's Adam!
"Hey! How's it going?" He says
"Hi, pretty good so far! I hate the fact that I'm so many miles away but you know...." I say
" I know! I hate it too!" He says
We talk on the phone for about ten minutes and I explain to him everything about here! When we hang up I go downstairs again to finish my meal!
"Sorry guys it took me so long but it was Jordan and then Adam and...." I try to apologize
"Haha don't worry honey! We understand " mom interrupts
I spent the afternoon and the evening tiding my room and putting all of my stuff on their proper places! I go to sleep relatively early because the jet lag is killing me and I feel so tired! I'm so worried about tomorrow! It's my first day on my new school. Let's just cross my fingers and hope everything goes fine!
