She was a healthy addiction,
And I knew it was a fatal attraction,
I didn't know how to act natural,
Since you were so kind it was cruel.

I wanted to be alone together,
But the silence would be deafening,
Our time was growing smaller,
And the darkness was blinding.

It was all confusingly clear,
All you gave me was hopeful despair,
And just like a beautiful goodbye
I was truthfully convinced you were a lie
