Chapter 20 : The Confession

The next day, you woke up having a fever. You didn't tell anyone. You headed to the SM Building with your members as you all prepared for a comeback. The comeback title song is called 'Huff n Puff'. [Red Velvet's song 😂]

The mini album consists of 6 songs including Huff n Puff. The 4 of you memorized the lyrics in no time and recorded the songs within a week. Once the songs have been recorded, you all met your choreographer and the 4 of you learnt the dance.

The dance had lots of difficult moves which could make you easily breathless, but you didn't tell anyone about your condition. By the end of the day, you were completely worn out and you didn't even eat anything.

1 month later, after the photo shoots and MV shooting, the 4 of you were ready to go to music shows again. Tomorrow will be the comeback stage on M Countdown. It was late at night and you just received a message from D.O.

D.O. : Heejung are you free?

Heejung : Yeah.

D.O. : Can you come to the rooftop garden?

Heejung : I'll be there in a minute. :)

You told Hayeon that you were going to the rooftop to meet D.O. and she told you to come back quickly.

You reached the rooftop and you saw D.O. leaning against the railing, peering across the city. You quietly walked towards him and covered his eyes.

"Guess! Who am I?" you laughed.

"Hmm... Are you Heejung or Heejung?" D.O. joked. You removed your hands from his eyes and he turned around to face you.

"Heejung-ah... There's something I would like to tell you." D.O. said slowly. "Remember that day when I found out about your condition? I said I wanted to tell you something but you were tired."

You nodded.

"Heejung... I like you." D.O. confessed.

Your face was blushing and you looked down at your shoes.

"But, I'm dying..." you said softly.

"According to the report, you won't die if you avoid rough activities. I don't care if you're dying or not. I want to take care of you. Even for 1 hour, I want to stay close with you. Give you warmth. Heejung... I love you."

"Oppa..." you looked up at his innocent face and gave him a tight hug.

D.O. hugged you back.

"Heejung-ah... Will you be my girlfriend?"

You nodded while hugging him. D.O. hugged you even tighter.

"Oppa... Tomorrow is my comeback stage with the others." you told D.O.

"I've heard about it."

"And the dance moves are really difficult."

"You didn't tell the choreographer about your condition?"

You shook your head.

"Take care of yourself tomorrow, okay? I don't want you to faint again..." D.O. cupped your chin.

You nodded.

He stood behind you and back hugged you.

"Tonight's a chilly night." D.O. whispered into your ears.

You closed your eyes and lean back. You let the cool breeze blow.

"It's kinda late now. Let's go back." D.O. looked at his watch.

It was 2.15am.

He held your hand as he walked you back to your dorm.

"Jagiya, annyeong. Sleep tight." D.O. smiled.

"Oppa annyeong."

You closed the door and went straight into your room. You saw Tiffany still up. She was using her phone.

"Why so late?" She asked.

"I was talking with Kyungsoo oppa just now."

"Ppali sleep. You need to wake up at 6am."

You climbed onto the bed and lay down. Tiffany tucked you under the blanket as she lay down beside you.

"Good night, Lily."

"Good night, Stephi unnie."

You turned to face Tiffany and you hugged her as you doze off to sleep.
