~A month later~
I heard Vic run into the bathroom. Morning sickness again. I followed her, expecting to help her. There's not much I can do, except pull her hair back, but in a way, it feels like the biggest job in the world at the time.
But she was already done when I came in. She was staring into the toilet with a mixture of horror, shock, and terror. What could be so bad?
"Vic, what's wrong?" I came in and glanced into the toilet. There were a few clumps of red mixed in with everything else.
"Please tell me that's food coloring..." I warned. Am I 100% sure it's blood? Should I take her to the doctor?
"I'll be fine," she told me, refusing to let me take her to the hospital. "It's not that bad."
I wanted to yell, since when is throwing up blood not that bad?! But she wouldn't give up on it, so I agreed it was nothing and to let it go.
"Want to come take a drive with me? I'm going to Midnight Cliff," I ask her, already grabbing he car keys.
"Sure, just give me a few minutes," she said, applying more eyeliner and playing with her hair.
I came up behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist. "You know you don't need all that, right?" I ask, pointing to various tubes, bottles, and brushes. She shrugs, and continues to put on makeup. "You're beautiful enough without it." I kiss her cheek. "'Cause you're my Covergirl," I sing to her as she smiles.

"Logan, are you sure this is safe?!" Victoria yelled as the car hit a pothole. She reached for the door handle and held on as the car lurched.
"It's perfectly safe. If we don't start rolling backwards..." I tell her.
"Logan!" she squeals. I chuckle a bit to myself.
"I kid, I kid." I reassure her. "Maybe."
"You know I usually trust you Logan, but this is a Ferrari, not a dirt bike," she said, her tone implying she was nervous.
"See?" I nodded to a huge area of gravel where the road got flatter. "We're almost there." I pulled over and parked. Vic wasted no time in scrambling out and sitting on the ground by the car.
"Sweet, sweet ground! And it's even!" she picked up a stone and kissed it. Then she threw it as far as she could, it flew through the air, off the edge of the cliff.
I looked over the side of the cliff and into the distance. "Isn't it beautiful?" I asked. No L.A buildings. No smog from the city. Only trees and rocks, all the way to the horizon. It's 100% nature.
"Yeah it's-" Vic started, but abruptly stopped. I look over at her, and see she's falling to the ground. I reach out to grab her before she hits the ground.
I layed her down, and in a minute she's up again. "You ok?" I ask her nervously.
"Yeah, it was just some symptom of pregnancy or something. Maybe I didn't have enough to eat today, probably," she says with a shrug.
We sat on the side of the cliff, our legs dangling over the edge. Her head was on my shoulder and my arm was around her as we watched the sun set.
"Will this work? Can we make it through it sane?" Vic asks me. She doesn't need to explain for me to know what she's talking about.
"With us together I'm sure we can," I told her. Some doubt was still there, I know it. For both of us.
"I don't feel so good.." Vic threw up on the gravel next to her.
Even in the fading light, I could still see the dark liquid all over the ground. It was all blood this time, no doubt about it. Bright, scary blood. Blood that is definitely not supposed to be there.
