"Elena."

"Hello!?!?" I shouted back.

"Elena?" The voice called yet again.

Why can't they hear me!! Why am I stuck in a black abyss?!?! "HELLO!" I shouted at the top of my lungs.

"Elena, I really hope you can hear me. If you can I want you to do something for me...

I want you to wake up."

My eyes shot open. It wasn't black anymore. It was extremely blurry but atleast it wasn't black.

"Elena?"

I felt as if I couldn't reply. All of my memories played back in my head. The last thing I remember was...

The car filling with water. Mom and dad! Are they ok? Where am I? This is not a hospital...this is a medal table, a light over head, and three people I have never seen before standing over me.

"Is she unresponsive but responsive again?" One asked.

"I'm not sure." Another replied. He was the voice in my head. He woke me up.

"Should we go ahead and do the experiment?" Another asked.

"No, we need to make sure she is awake." The man replied to the second question.

"Elena? Can you hear me? Can you see me?"

I looked to the man who woke me up and asked me the questions, and nodded.

He gave a small smile. "Can you sit up for me?" He asked. I tried but nothing moved.

I shook my head.

He nodded in understanding and looked at the other two. "Help me sit her up." They moved and grabbed my shoulders and pushed my upper half into a sitting position. They held me in place.

"Now, I know you're confused. But my name is Deaton and the two holding you are Scott and Stiles, and we are here to help you."

I slowly nodded as my eyes began to tear up. To say I was a little scared as an understatement but I couldn't exactly do anything until I could feel my body. Deaton gave another small smile but returned to his brooding face.

"Can you try to speak?" He asked. I opened my mouth and breathed out, "Y-yes."

"Good, is it ok if I ask you a few questions?" I replied with the same stuttering yes as before and he carried on.

"What is the last thing you remember?" He asked.

I thought before answering. "I r-remember my p-parents and I-I, going under w-water."

He looked at me sadly before nodding. "W-why a-are you l-looking at me l-like that?" I asked.

Deaton looked at the two behind me, Scott and Stiles I think, and sighed before nodding and returning his gaze to me.

"The reason you and your parents went under water, was because the car you were in, ran off of a bridge and into the lake. Your parents died and you survived. But you were in a coma...for four years."

I gasped and felt my eyes watering. "T-their dead? I-I remember." I said as the tears fell. "W-we were arguing and-" Deaton tried to tell is was ok to stop but I kept rambling and crying. "No, n-no it feels like just last night." I shook my head in my hands and cried.

I felt a warm comforting hand on my lower back. "Elena," I continued to cry as they carried on with a small sigh. "I'm very sorry about your parents but, there is something we need to do." Scott told me. I looked at him and then to Stiles who continued to comfort me and wiped tears away and nodded. Since this happened four years ago, everybody had moved on. Maybe if I do what they need me to then they'll take me to their graves...

"What is it?" I asked and sniffled.

"We have reason to believe you are a um, a vampire¿" Scott said almost in question. I just looked at him.

"W-what? I'm sorry vampire? What are you people talking about? Where even am I?" Realizing these people are completely crazy, probably run a drug cartel, and I'm probably about to be sold.

"Calm down, it's ok. You are at my office. I'm a veterinarian. Scott here is a werewolf who works along side me. I also specialize in the supernatural." I still gave them all criticizing looks.

"Scott can prove it to you." I looked beside me to see Stiles giving me a calm look. One that I felt I had no choice but to agree to. I nodded and looked at Scott.

Scott calmed his breathing and I watched as his face transformed into that of a wolf, his eyes glowed yellow, and sharp nails came out of his fingers.

I looked at him in shock and scooted away. "What the.." My words were caught in my throat. "It's ok, he has control. He won't hurt you." Stiles told me. I looked at Scott a little unsure but nodded again and sat straight up on my own. Then just like that Scott was back to normal.

"Do you believe us now?" Scott asked. I nodded and looked to Deaton.

"So I'm a vampire?" I asked.

"Maybe. I need to try one more thing before I know for sure. Are you ready?" He asked.

"Will it hurt?" I asked. He simply shook his head. I nodded and stood up with the help of Stiles and tried to look confident. Key word 'tried.'

"Good now all I want you to do...is run."

I gave him a wtf look. "Huh?" I asked prepared for basically anything and he told me to run.

"Run, to the other side of the room and back." He told me.

I kept my look but none of the less nodded and ran to the other side of the room and back. But it felt as if it happened within one second.

"What the hell?" I asked. They all gave me the same look I wore. Shock, confusion, amazement.

"Now I'm sure. You, Elena Gilbert are in fact, a vampire."

"Ok so, all I have to do is drink blood and I'm fine?" I asked.

"That and stay out of sunlight for a while. Also steer clear of vervain, and wooden stakes."

"No wait! If I have to steer clear of sunlight than how can I go out?" I asked.

"As I've read, to go out into the sun you need to have the gem lazis lazuli so I'll have to make you a ring." Deaton told me.

"Or, you can order one offline because that would probably be faster." Stiles said.

"What if I don't drink anything?" I asked.

"Then you'll slowly, well, turn into stone basically." Deaton said. That's kinda harsh. "And by slowly I mean over the course of 60 or so years. A painful stoning." Even harsher.

"And you've learned all of this from your book of werewolves?" I asked shocked.

"It's called a bestiary, and I also heard some of this information from...acquaintances."

I slowly nodded but I was skeptical. This guy does seem to know what he's doing. "Well what about craving? What if I accidentally, I don't know, go for Stiles?" I asked. Which is something I don't want to do...since you know he saved me and all...

"That's simple. Just don't. Run for the woods and find an animal of sorts. I do recommend doing blood bags. You don't have to hurt any humans, you don't have to drink animal blood which is probably not going to taste as great as human blood, and also you'll be stronger with human blood consumption." Deaton suggested. I nodded.
"Your will has to be strong enough to not hurt anyone."

"So I never age, I can't have kids, I need to wear a gem to go out in the sun, and I have to drink blood to stay alive. Sounds like I've got a shitty undead life ahead of me." I sighed wishing this had never happened. I would've been just fine in my coma...why did I even wake up? Why was I in a coma for four years? Why didn't my parents survive? My parents.

"I want you to take me to see my parents." I demanded standing tall and with a lot more confidence then earlier.

"Elena, we told you they're-" I cut Scott off.

"Dead. I know. I want to see their graves."
