Chapter 3

Kelsey’s pov

“UHHH I can’t believe you” I yelled

   Cody and I were down in my design studio. For the past hour all Cody did was criticize my designs. As soon as I started to draw something he immediately shot it down. I didn’t even get the chance to tell him any of my ideas.

“Well these are my clothes so they should be my designs” Cody fought back

“You told me you wanted me to design you something. That means I draw it and create it.” I said

“Well you work for me so I could fire you at any moment”

 I was stunned. By the look on Cody’s face it took him a second to realize what he just said

“I didn’t realize all I was just staff to you.” I said

“Kels look I’m sorry I di-“

“Just please leave’

“Kelsey please”

“I’m sorry Cody but I thought I was designing for a best friend but that best friend apparently doesn’t exist anymore”

“Kelsey I didn’t mean it” Cody said

“Even if you didn’t mean it, it still came out of your mouth so you thought it. Now please leave”

  Cody didn’t say anymore and he left. I couldn’t help it I started to cry. I don’t know why but I did. This was the last day we had together until he comes back but even then I don’t know if he will talk to me.

    I went up to my room and turned my music up loud and just sat there Out of the corner of my eye I saw my surfboard. Even though I was mad at Cody I couldn’t deny I was glad he taught me how to surf. I changed into my swim suit and grabbed my surfboard and went to the beach. All I need was to clear my head.

   From the beach I could see Cody’s house and his bedroom window too. I signed and went back to water to surf.

“Kelsey Kelsey” I heard someone yelling

 I turned around to see Alli running towards me.

“Hey what’s up?” I asked she seemed excited

“I just got offered the chance to record and make a music video” Alli said jumping up and down.

“Wait so you’re leaving too.”

“Ya our whole family is moving to LA with Cody”

“Oh well that’s awesome for you Alli” I said

“Wait what’s wrong” she asked

“Well you guys are my only friends and I just had a huge fight with Cody and now I’m going to have no one” I said

“Hey I promise I will call and text you every day. As for Cody well , he’ll come around and don’t worry we’ll come back and when we do I’ll spend all my time with you” she said

  We hugged and she said she had to go and finish packing they were leaving tomorrow.

  I went home and sat in the sunroom and grabbed the book I was reading and continued. Eventually I fell asleep like I usually do.

  I was awoken by someone shaking me. My mother was trying to wake me up.

“Kelsey Alli’s here to say goodbye”

  Wow I slept the whole night.  I got up and went to the living room where Alli was waiting.

She smiled at me and pulled me into a hug

“I tried to get Cody to come but he wouldn’t” she said

“That’s ok thanks for coming”

“Do you want me to tell him anything?”

“Uh ya sure tell him that I’m going to miss him and good luck”

“Ok well I have to go but I’ll text you as soon as we land in LA’

“Ok bye” I said

  And with that she walked out the door and the memories of the past 4 years came back into my mind. Everything from the day Cody got the call to just yesterday when all 3 of us were surfing together at the beach.

  Slowly a tear fell from my eyes and down my cheek. I would no longer be able to have sleepovers with Alli or spend endless days at the beach. And more importantly I would probably never talk to Cody again.

  School was starting up again in a few weeks and I would soon have stuff to take my mind off all this. Until then I would just have to deal with it.

Alli’s pov

  I felt bad for Kelsey she and I were super close and spent almost every waking moment together.

“I can’t believe you Cody” I said as I walked into his room after saying bye to Kelsey.

“What?”

“Kelsey wanted to say bye to you stupid”

“I doubt it plus I don’t want to see her”

“Well they I guess you don’t want to know that she said she would miss you and good luck” I said and left his room

  Cody could be so stubborn. I really didn’t know what happened between them but it couldn’t be good.

Cody’s pov

  I didn’t know what it was but I did wish Kelsey would have said to my face that she would miss me. But I hired her and she wouldn’t listen to me. I guess I’m just used to everyone listening to what I say. I didn’t care that I wouldn’t see her for a long time.

   Now that my whole family was coming with me to LA I wouldn’t be coming home as much. The drive to the airport seemed to go on forever.

  When the plane took off I took one last look at the place I had called home for so many years. All I could think about were the great memories I had ever since I met Kelsey.

  I realized I had made huge mistake.
