Chapter 5

Cody’s POV

 I opened up the package and was confused. I quickly flipped over the box and looked at the return address.

It was from Kelsey…

I pulled out a brand new casual blazer and some t-shirts. They were just my style. Underneath everything there was a note.

Cody,

I know this isn’t what you wanted but I told you I would do this for you. You don’t have to wear them. I just really couldn’t break a promise.

Kelsey

It was just like Kelsey. She never broke a promise no matter how dangerous it could be.

I looked over to where my phone was and went to grab it. I was about to dial Kelsey’s number. Just as I was about to press the first number I realized I needed to do something bigger than just a call.

Then I knew what I would do.

It was the day after I got Kelsey’s package and I was back stage Star News where I was going onstage in 10 minutes.

Yesterday after I opened the package I got Alli to call Kelsey to make sure she watched the show tonight. I took one last look in the mirror in my dressing room and was ready to go.

Waiting backstage I was nervous but I couldn’t wait.

“Welcome singer Cody Simpson to the stage” the host said and that was my cue

I walked out on stage and the crowd cheered.

I went and sat down on the chair beside the host.

“Looking good tonight Cody! Who are you wearing” the host Tara asked me

“Actually my best friend back home in Australia designed it for me”

“And what’s there name?” Tara asked

“Her name is Kelsey” I said proudly

“Well she is very talented” Tara said

“I know” I said

The interview continued and finished 20 minutes later. I walked off the stage and went back to my dressing room.

“Hey Cody” Alli said when I walked in

“Hey”

“So is that what was in the package?” Alli asked

“Ya they’re pretty amazing” I said do a quick spin

“So did you thank her?”

“Well not yet..” I said

“You really should” Alli said tossing me my phone and walking out the door.

I took a deep breathe. I could do this! No I needed to do this. I went through my contacts and found Kelsey and clicked call.

The phone began to ring. After what felt like forever I was about to hang up when I heard the voice I had been dying to hear for a long time.

“Cody?” Kelsey said

“Hey, so how are you.” I said

“Pretty good” she said

“I just wanted to say thanks”

“Like I said I couldn’t break a promise”

“I’m serious the clothes are amazing and so are you”
