About two weeks after my appointment, Luke came up to Anna and I at our lunch table. He said "Listen Sadie, I, uh, really messed up. I want to be in my kids life. So, can, we, uh, hang out sometime?" I looked at him and sighed. I could see in his eyes he wanted information about Piper, and if I didn't give it to him he'd be mad. "Come over to my house. But just to let you know, we are not getting back together, so don't ask." Anna thought I was crazy, but I explained to her I was only giving him the minimal of information. Once he came over his hands were shaky and sweaty, and he looked extremely nervous. He sat down on the couch shaking. I brought down the ultrasound pictures and gave them to him. "It's a girl. I'm going to name her Piper Corra." Luke didn't say a word, and a tear rolled down his cheek. "I still can't believe I'm going to be a father." Luke said. He walked out the door, super emotional. It was so strange seeing a teenage boy cry and get all emotional, but I knew he was still shocked about being a father. We all had a lot of work to do getting ready for Piper. My dad cleared out my old playroom which we at that time used for storage, to use for Pipers room. He painted it a adorable light pink color, and then we hung up some pink curtains. Anna surprised me with a beautiful sign she made that said Piper on it, and then she painted some canvas art to hang up for decoration. The basket Anna gave me had so much helpful stuff which I needed, but we still needed some cute girly clothes. My dad gave me $400 and said to buy lots of baby clothes. So, he dropped off Anna and I at the mall and we went shopping. It was so much fun, buying girl clothes. We bought clothes in all different sizes for Piper. We even stopped by a furniture store and picked up some bedding. I was so exited for Piper, and nothing, I thought could bring me down.
