Chapter 8

After our shopping spree we got the nursery ready and my dad helped us build furniture. Whenever we saw Luke at school his eyes were bloodshot and he looked exhausted. One day he came up to me and Anna in the hall and said "Sadie, can you come over to my house later " I sighed. I was still super mad at him, but I was doing it for Piper so that she could know who her dad was. "Fine." I replied. After school I walked to his house and his mom answered the door. "Looking good. How's the pregnancy going?" She asked. "Good." I replied. I knocked on Luke's bedrooms door, and I heard Luke say "Be out in a minute." I heard him shuffling around things and heard him say to someone in his room "Put it away, you can't let her see that." "See what?" I asked. I heard more shuffling and then decided to just open the door. On the bed there was bags filled with what looked to be drugs and there were pipes on the floor. I was completely 100% shocked. "So this is what you've been doing. Drugs." I shouted at him. He looked at his friend, and his friend opened the window and went out that way since his room was on ground level. Luke just stood there, completely shocked that I had just seen his little drug operation. "I..... I can explain." Luke said. "Save your time, you loser. You are never going to see your child, you're going to be locked up for years." I ran out of his room, and called the police. "Hello......... Yes um my ex has bags of drugs on his bed and pipes.......... Yes he did have an accomplice but he ran out...... Ok thank you." I told Luke's mom after I called the police and she was also shocked. I left his house after the police came and I went back home. I told Anna what happened and she was super mad at Luke, just like I was. Once my poor daughter was born, she wouldn't even be able to see her father because he would be locked up for years. You would think that once you knew you were going to be a dad you would be more responsible, but not for Luke. When I told my dad he got angry and said that Luke should be locked away for years. The next day I went to another doctors appointment after school. They said Piper was healthy and that I was 6 months pregnant. I called up the agency that said they would help me and talked to them. I told them when my due date was, and they said to called them when I needed to go back to school.
