The Date

This was supposed to be a gift for valentine's day but I'm kinda busy with my own date. Lol. 😂 So anyways, here's a chapter. I hope you guys had (or for others, having) a great valentine's. 💕

Date. Day, Month, Year, or even hour Anniversaries (or any other -saries). Valentines. Or any other occasions that can be considered as a date. She don't like it. Because Beca Mitchell don't do DATES.

But that was until she met Jesse Swanson. She would never admit it out loud, but deep inside, she's secretly waiting every year for his cheesy, cliché, and romantic surprise.

Oh how she hate surprises.

Freshman year.

She's sitting on the grass, at the spot near the tree. He throws a juice pouch, ("What's this? Beca asked Jesse ) some snack from his backpack, ("As much as I love spending time with you stacking CD's, and I do. I love it, like more than life." He said while retrieving the food from his bag) then comes the movies, ("How do you not like movies? Not liking movies is like, not liking...puppies!" "They're fine. I just get bored and never make it to the end.").

So that's how he brought up movie-cation a.k.a. their first date (at least for Jesse). But then Kimmy Jin enters the frame ("I hate that girl. And her friends. She's a racist!" Beca thought to herself while Jesse's thought was like, "If only I could send that girl back to Korea. Maybe Benji can help me? Shit. That's ridiculous." ).

Sophomore year.

Then that spot became their spot. They're sitting on the grass, at their spot under the tree. He's leaning on the tree, his chin above her head, while she's sitting in between his legs, leaning on his chest and their hands intertwined. Watching a movie and drinking juice pouches under the warm sun.

Junior year.

Their first year anniversary as a couple. Now, Jesse could say that it was a date. He's so excited about this night. Beca on the other hand was....nervous. It's a date. A real date. She reminds herself that it was just Jesse. Her movie loving nerd. She should act cool.

It's a good thing he didn't asked her to wear something classy. Then time comes. He knocked on her door but she was too occupied by her thoughts that she didn't heard him knocking. So he did something that surprised her and caught her attention. Singing.

I'm gonna knock on your door (he knocks on the door)
Ring on your bell (pressed the door bell)
Jump on your window too (he jumps in to the nearest open window)

(If you are wondering, Beca's sitting on a couch at the Bella's house and not inside her room (which is in the 2nd floor) waiting for his arrival.)

Once he was inside, he keeps on singing and every line of the song corresponds an action,

If you don't come out tonight while the moon is bright
I'm gonna knock and ring and tap until you do

until she burst out laughing.

Instead of going in to a nice romantic meal, she found herself in Jesse's car.

They just drove around the campus. Windows open letting the wind whipped past their faces. Music blaring from the stereo, ( a Bieber song came on "You ain't gonna be my lover-" Beca points at Jesse for him to continue the song, "-for you to call me Baby." ) singing on the top of their lungs. Making jokes about the people they saw on the streets. Order a burrito from the nearest Taco Bell drive-thru, then eat chicken nuggets and fries on McDonald's, and get a coffee from Starbuck's all with a nonstop conversation.

This is not what she expected. This is not what he planned. But at least this is what she likes. And it works for him well. And the best part, they're both happy and enjoying each other's company.

Hold up! This is not yet done. But I need some help guys. What do you wanna see on their next date? Sky diving? Island hopping? Hiking? Wedding date? Or it can be a wedding proposal. 😉 Or none of the above. 😂
