Ch. 3
"NALA!.......Nala where are you!?" I shouted out as I walked around the street.
"Nala please be safe" I whispered to myself, praying to God that she's okay. I frantically pulled my phone out of my back pocket as I heard it ring, hoping that Liam or Kimmy found her. I quickly answered the phone seeing Kimmy's name on the caller I.D.
"Kimmy did you find her?" I asked she sighed.
"I'm sorry Nat, but we didn't and its getting pretty late. I think you should go home, we are"
"I-I can't Kim w-what if something happened to her?" I sobbed.
"all the more reason to go home and wait. she'll come home" she said. I took in a shaky breath and agreed and hung up. turning around, I sighed as I walked back home. my converse scuffed against the sidewalk as I made my way home.
'its been five days since she went missing'

I sighed walking into my house, closing the door, I locked it. taking off my coat, I hung it up. walking over to my room, I took a quick shower and put on a black tank top with some grey sweats. I walked out of my room, ready to put some fresh food and water for Nala, but remembered that she wasn't home. I sighed letting a tear slip.
Nala wasn't just my cat, she was the only family I had left. Kim and Liam were close but not as close as Nala.
**flashback**
I was asleep in my pink bedroom with my princess Ariel blanket, and bed sheets. I woke up coughing lightly.
"Nala" I called out to my new Kitty I got for my tenth birthday, yesterday. I smiled hearing her meow and hopping on to my tiny bed. I coughed again, my eyes getting watery as I saw smoke.
"Mummy, Daddy!" I called seeing her and my father walk in through my door.
"Natalie dear come with us!" she said quickly as my father picked me up out of bed.
"but what about Nala?" I asked in my tiny voice.
"Nala" my mother called. she quickly picked up Nala and gave her to me. I smiled holding Nala close as my father carried me.
"George how are we going to make it?" my mother asked him.
"as long as we get her out of here it'll be fine" my father stated.
"Daddy!" I shouted pointing to the wall as it went up in flames. I shrieked when it crashed behind us as my mother ran past it.
"Mummy!" I yelled pointing to my mother on the floor. I saw her robe catch on fire she quickly pulled it off rolling away. gasping, I saw her leg burnt and bleeding. I struggled to get out of my fathers grip, shrieking as I felt a sting on my left shoulder blade. my father quickly pat it down.
"Natalie be careful" he scolded. I sniveled feeling a horrible pain in my shoulder. I could tell I burnt myself.
"George get Natalie out of here" she ordered my father.
"Sarah I'm not leaving with out you" my fathers deep voice stated.
"Mummy please come wif us" I begged, with tears running down my cheeks. she shook her head.
"George I'll be fine!" she stated.
"Sarah-" my father started but was cut off.
"Go! NOW!!" my mother ordered. my father winced.
"I'm coming back for you Sarah, be safe" he begged. she nodded. my mother smiled blowing me a kiss as my father ran with me in his arms. I caught her kissing my tiny hand blowing another to her. she smiled. I coughed as my father made it out the front door with me. he set me down.
"Natalie listen carefully I need you to wait here the firemen are on their way. no matter what happens your mother and I love you very much" he said with tears in his eyes. I sniffed wiping my nose.
"I love you too Daddy" I said. he smiled caressing my cheek.
"no matter what happens promise me you'll stay here with Nala" he asked. I nodded with my tiny kitten in my arms.
"Daddy wait!" I said, grabbing my fathers robe as I pulled him back to me. he knelt down to my level. I went on my toes wrapping my arms around his neck, as I kissed him on the cheek.
"for luck" I whispered in his ear. he smiled down to me.
**end of flashback**
I closed my eyes not wanting the painful memory in my mind, walking into my bathroom, I saw my eyes all red and puffy, with tear stained cheeks in my mirror. I turned around to look at the horrible burn mark on the back of my shoulder, wiping my cheeks, hearing my doorbell ring. I sighed grabbing my long sleeve cardigan and wrapping it around myself. I opened the door to see who it was, letting out a gasped.
"Nala!" I said in excitement taking my cat from the stranger, sighing in satisfaction, knowing that my only family was safe.
"thank you so much I-I...how can I repay you?" I asked the person who brought her back setting her down. smiling, I looked up, seeing a pair of bright green eyes.
"its no problem I just saw your flyers. she came round my place a few days ago. I didn't know who's she was until I saw the flyers" his deep voice said. I smiled.
"there must be something I can do, would you like to come in for a cup of tea?" I asked him he smiled and nodded. I stepped aside as he walked in.
"my names Harry by the way" he smiled. I smiled back.
"Natalie" I said shaking his hand.
