So the Lyoko Warriors are very suspicious of their new classmate, they've never seen her before or think she is who she says she is. Well everyone aside from Yumi, who knows exactly who this mysterious new girl is. As Athena heads on to Lyoko to cure her illness once again, will the Lyoko Warriors sense a problem and go to Lyoko to investigate?

Yumi's POV

I was just about to head home when Jeremy texted me saying their was a Xana attack, which meant an activated tower on Lyoko. I rushed towards the park, however at the back of my mind was Dawn, she had never come back after her headache.

Once I reached the factory I headed down to the scanner room with the others.

"Hey Aelita?" I asked, she turned towards me.

"What is it, Yumi?"

"Did you go back to your dorm?" She nodded. "Was Athena there?" She shook her head and I stepped inside the scanner.

"Why?" I looked down.

"I was just wondering."

"Scanner Yumi, Scanner Aelita. Transfer Yumi, Transfer Aelita. Virtualization." Once Aelita and I appeared on Lyoko, Jeremy virtualized the boys.

"Alright ladies, shall we find that activated tower?" Ulrich said. I nodded with Aelita.

"Here come your vehicles." Jeremy said and they appeared in front of us.

"Thanks Jeremy." I said climbing on to the over-wing. Odd flipped on to his over-board and Ulrich jumped on to his over-bike with Aelita.

"The tower is north-east of your position." I noticed then that we were in the Mountain Sector of Lyoko. We started heading towards the tower when Jeremy told us to stop.

"What is it, Jeremy?" Aelita asked.

"D-Dawn is on Lyoko!" He called out and that's when she went flying past at a speed I didn't think was possible for her.

"Yeah we just saw that, Yumi and Aelita go for the tower, Odd and I will head after Dawn." We split up, but I really wish I was in the group going after Dawn. How could she be so stupid?

"Yumi, the tower." Aelita pointed out and we flew directly for it. It was strange there were no monsters there to greet us. Aelita was easily able to deactivate the tower.

"Jeremy, which direction are Odd and Ulrich?" I asked as Aelita hopped on the back of my over-wing again.

"East."

Od's POV

As she passed overhead I knew something was wrong from the way she was flying, she never flew that fast before. As Ulrich and I chased after her, I felt like something was very wrong.

She stopped abruptly.

"Stop following me." She said coldly.

"Dawn, just let us explain ourselves." I said and she turned. I could see nothing in her expression aside from hatred.

"Let you explain yourselves? Like you let me? I don't think so. Now leave me alone, I have no more to say to you, but if you insist on getting in my way then you leave me no choice." Two swords appeared in her hands.

"Dawn, do you really hate us that much?" Ulrich asked sadly.

"You know there was a time when I thought of you like a brother, Ulrich. But last time I checked brothers never hurt their sisters!" She threw her sword and it went through Ulrich so fast that he wasn't able to stop himself from getting devirtualized. She turned her attention to me. "And Odd, the boy I thought I loved. I guess hearts lie too." She charged me and I had to duck quickly to avoid a quick ending like Ulrich.

"Dawn, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said what I did." She chuckled.

"You're sorry? It's too late for I'm sorry, Odd." She stabbed me through the chest and as I devirtualized she whispered in my ear. "I wish I could believe and trust you..."

Athena's POV

After devirtualizing Odd and Ulrich I turned to leave, but someone else calling my name made me stop. I looked back to see Yumi and Aelita.

"Dawn, please. I never wanted to hurt you." Aelita said begging me to come back.

"Sorry, but I no longer see you as a sister, Aelita. You might have been at one point, but all you humans do is lie over and over again. I can't even tell if you're telling the truth anymore." She looked at me shocked.

"Dawn..." I threw my sword through her chest and she disappeared as well. Now all it was, was Yumi and I.

"Dawn." She said quietly.

"Thank you, Yumi. For staying by my side, but this is one thing I have to do by myself. Please don't get in my way." I turned and flew away from her and to Sector 5.

I have to find a cure for my illness or else.

Once I was inside the Celestial Dome I headed for the core room. The switch on the wall disappeared whenever I was there, because for me I could just pass through the wall and into the room beyond it. I landed on the platform in front of the wall and let my body pass through it like it was the entrance to a tower.

I looked up at the glowing light on the platform high above me.

Why does it always bring sadness when I come here? I wondered quietly. I started jumping up the ledges to the top, my wings were exhausted from all the travelling they had done in the past couple of minutes. I was able during the summer to upgrade my wings and swords so that I could fight and fly more effectively.

This was the first time I had actually tried my new upgrades and I was thoroughly impressed with them.

Once I reached the platform I swiped open the screen for the core and started going through the data, wondering if maybe it held the cure to my illness. Unfortunately I couldn't find anything in the database about my illness.

"Why can't I find a cure for this?" I groaned.

"I told you there wasn't a cure for it." I turned and saw Xana standing there.

"What do you want? Come to gloat some more about how I'm eventually going to die because I was never meant to be human?" I asked. He shook his head.

"I only want you to understand that there's nothing you can do to save yourself from the digital world. We aren't humans therefore we can't stay in human forms forever. I know that's not what you want to hear, but Athena you don't have a choice. Eventually you're going to get too sick to function properly in the human world. I don't want you to die like that Athena, I don't want you to die at all. You were created to protect the humans, yes, but you were never meant to be one." I looked away from him and continued to search through the database wishing he was wrong, but I knew all too well that he wasn't this time.

"I want to be human, I know what it's like to feel happiness and sadness, I know what pain feels like. I want to be able to one day show a son or a daughter that. I want them to be able to live in a world that isn't a computer of coding and scanning. They should have a better life than this place. If anything I want that..." I muttered and closed the screen knowing I wouldn't find anything.

"Athena, that will never happen, because you aren't human. Therefore you can't have kids. You think too much like a human and nothing like a program, because that's all you'll ever be is a program." Xana disappeared and I dropped to my knees.

"No, that can't be all I am... I don't want to be a program for the rest of my life... I want to feel emotions to be happy, to be sad and to know that I can one day have a family of my own... I have to find a cure somehow..." I touched my necklace and slowly disappeared from Lyoko and back into my dorm room.

I sat down on my bed and pulled out a book as Aelita walked in with a grim look on her face.

"Hey Aelita, is everything alright?" She nodded and then went to change into pjs.

"It's just been a long day, that's all." She curled up in bed and fell asleep quickly.

"I know how you feel..." I changed really fast and curled up in bed as well.

Maybe a goodnight's rest will do me some good.
