Chapter 16: Athena, Sister of Xana

Odd's POV

As we appeared on Lyoko I noticed it was darker than before. The forest around us was almost eerie. The trees looked almost black and their were no longer leaves on these trees only black branches. Like this was a scary movie.

"Ulrich, why do you think it's like this?" I asked as he appeared next me taking in the scenery.

"I don't know, we have to find Dawn though." We rushed towards the nearest tower and that's when I saw the red halo around it.

"Wait an activated tower?" I said shocked.

"Jeremy! There's an activated tower here!" Ulrich called out as we stopped.

"I'll send Aelita and Yumi." As they appeared Aelita rushed towards the tower, but as she tried to go through it she slammed into it and fell back on to her butt.

"What's going on? Aelita can't get into the tower?" I said helping her up.

"I don't understand, this Lyoko is scarier and stranger than the old one." Yumi said and looked around.

"Welcome Lyoko Warriors." We turned and saw Xana standing there.

"Xana, what have you done to Lyoko?" Ulrich asked pulling out his saber.

"It wasn't my doing, it was hers." We turned in the direction of his pointed finger and saw Dawn standing there, her hair was red and her outfit had changed as well to a red one. Finally when she opened her eyes they were blood red. She giggled quietly and walked towards us.

"Do you like my home?" She asked. She smiled darkly.

"Dawn, what happened to you?" Aelita asked worried, taking a step towards her.

"What happened to me? I don't know I was thrown into a pit of darkness and no one came for me, that's what happened, instead you all gave up and assumed I was gone forever. Did you ever think that if you shut down the supercomputer and then turned it back on that I'd appear in the core instead of being consumed by darkness?" We all froze. She had been trying to tell us this all along, when Jeremy couldn't figure out the coding for the core, it was because Dawn was blocking it. She had wanted us to come back and save her, but we never did.

"Dawn, we're sorry..." Yumi said looking at her sadly.

"Yumi, you know, you were always my favorite, because even when everyone else was against me you stood by my side. And that's why..." She trailed off and lifted her hand, a orb of red light appeared in her hand. "I want you..." It glowed brighter. "To join me." She shot it at Yumi and she dodged it quickly and it hit a tree causing it to glow bright red. 

"I would never join someone who is on Xana's side!" Yumi yelled and pulled out her fans. Dawn stood there for a second as Yumi released the fans. 

"Sure beautiful fans..." Dawn grabbed them right out of the air. They started glowing red. "I hope you don't mind if I borrow them?" She threw them back at her and they hit her making her start to disappear.

"Guys you have to save her..." Yumi said before she completely devirtualized. 

"You guys! Yumi is gone! She's not in the scanner, she disappeared somewhere else." Jeremy called out quickly. Dawn smirked.

"Your friend is alright." She pointed her finger and we turned to see Yumi in an orb above the tower. 

"Yumi!" Ulrich called out and was about to jump up towards her when Dawn appeared in front of him. 

"Now where do you think you're going?" She asked grabbing Ulrich's saber. It glowed red as well. 

"Dawn, don't do this. Yumi is your friend and we are too, we want to help you not hurt you." He said dodging her attacks left and right.
