I woke up to the noise of phone buzzing. When I looked at it, I saw a text from Calum.

From Calum: Guess who's coming back today?

My eyes were wide with excitement as I quickly texted back a reply.

To Calum: Oh my god, really?!!?! I thought you weren't supposed to be back until the New Year!

From Calum: I'm not. But I wanted to come back, so my parents booked me an early ticket...

I nearly jumped with excitement.

To Calum: What time are you coming back?

From Calum: I just got out of the plane. So probably an hour or two...

To Calum: I can't wait!

From Calum: See you then Xx

I hurried into the bathroom to get ready. As I walked in, I saw my reflection in the mirror. Then all the memories from yesterday came flooding back.

I watched my eyes rim with tears, but I held them back. I needed to talk to someone. The only person who I could talk to now was Calum. And he would be here in a couple hours, so I had to be ready.

I took a hot shower, which helped reduce my stress by a very small amount. Then I put on an old Coldplay shirt and light washed skinny jeans. As I pulled the jeans up, I heard my stomach growling. I hadn't even realized until now that I have barely ate. I completely forgot about my hair, despite it's mess, and made my way to the kitchen. When I came off the stairs, my foot caught on something on the floor. My legs completely gave out, and I fell down, expecting a hard floor. But once again, my fall was broken by someone. I heard a groan and I looked to see the face the noise had come from. I first saw the brown curly hair. Then the green eyes, and then the whole face.

"What the hell?!" Ashton whispered, loud enough for me to hear.

"Sorry! I didn't know that you were here," I replied quickly.

"Clearly..." His voice was a low rumble from just waking up.

"What are you doing here anyways?" Our faces were only a couple inches apart, but neither of us seemed to notice.

"It was too late last night to go home, so your grandma told us to stay here."

"Oh..."

"Yeah," he whispered back. We stayed this way for a couple moments, staring into each others eyes. Neither of us moved. But I heard a knock on the door, which made me get up faster than one could blink.

I ran to the door and pulled it open as fast as I could. There stood my best friend in the whole world. He looked tired from the flight, but his face was in a goofy smile. I immediately launched myself into his arms.

"Oh my gosh Cal! I've missed you so much!" I shrieked. He wrapped his arms tightly around my waist.

"Geez! I didn't know that you missed me this much. I certainly didn't miss you," he giggled sarcastically.

"Shut up! You know you love me..." I said, pulling away from our hug. He gave me an 'I doubt it' kind of look, and I slapped his arm. He responded by just laughing. I backed up into our home and opened the door for him to come in. I completely forgot about the guests who spent the night.

"Do you want pancakes? I was just about to make some?" I walked into the kitchen, where I immediately stopped. Ashton stood near the dining table, drinking a cup of coffee. Because I stopped so abruptly, it caused Calum who was right behind me to hit into my back. I looked at him and saw a cold glare towards Ashton.
