"Alright guys. You have 14 more minutes till the test has to be turned in. Chop chop," the teacher in the front of the room announced.
I sighed as I checked over my exam one more time. I had finished about 10 minutes ago, but didn't feel like being the first one to turn in my test. Otherwise, I would just get weird looks and be called a nerd 'behind my back.' And I didn't really feel like being called names right now. So I just sat at my desk, shaking my foot, waiting out he remaining time.
I looked over to Calum, who was sitting at the desk next to me. He took in a deep breath, and let it out. I could tell he was having a hard time answering the questions. He looked up, and his dark brown eyes met mine. His eyes told showed me that he was distraught. His lips moved, but no sound came out.
Help me.
I really wanted to do something, like take his test, and circle all the right answers. But I obviously couldn't do that with the teacher sitting right in front of us. I didn't know what to do. I had to help somehow. I was really glad that Calum and I sat at the very back of the classroom, because this made it easier to talk to one another during class. I quickly grabbed out a post-it note, being as discreet as possible.
Which numbers?
I wrote. I placed it on the ground and kicked it towards his seat. Calum smiled, admiring my method. He unwrapped the note, read it, and quickly wrote a reply. Then he kicked it back over.
17-26
I sighed. This boy really needed some help. I glanced towards the front of the classroom and looked all around, making sure no one was watching us. Then I quickly wrote the answers on the note and slid it back over. He opened the note, and graciously circled all of the same answers I had circled.
"Okay. Time to turn your test in. Hand it in to me at the door before going to lunch. This will be your exit pass," the teacher said a few minutes later.
Everyone got up, and Calum and I followed. As we walked through the door Calum handed in his test, as did I.
Calum patted me on the back, and ran towards the cafeteria. I giggled. He always does that when he's hungry. It basically means, "Can't talk now, too hungry. Meet you at the lunch table."
Calum always buys lunch from school, whilst I bring my lunch in from home. School food is disgusting, I don't know why he keeps eating it.
I walk into the lunch room, taking in all the noise. I eye the table that Calum and I always sit at. On the right sits some of his other friends. We both always sit at the end of the table, because all of Calums friends think I'm some weird freak, all thanks due to Ashton. I walk to the left half of the table, which remains empty for me and the dark haired boy, when I hear some one call my name.
"Carly, come hither!" I turn around to see that the voice belonged to Michael. He was next to Luke, as always. And I braced myself to find Ashton sitting there looking at me with an evil smirk, but he was nowhere to be seen. I quickly walked towards the 2 boys.
"What?"
"Come eat with us," Luke stated with a small smile. I let out a laugh of disbelief.
"Why? I've already ate dinner with you two before, I'm not really up for another meal so soon," I tell them and their faces fall. Luke fake pouts.
"Pweez Carls. With a cherry on top," the blonde haired boy begged. I couldn't help but let out a small laugh at how ridiculous he looked. I was about to reply, when somebody else called my name.
"Carly?" Calum said from our table. He looked at me with a concerned face.
"I'll be right there," I said reassuringly and even gave him a smile.
