And the next chapter has finally been finished! Sorry it's been taking so long. Band Camp started last week so it's been kinda hard to work on the story. Almost done though!
I hope you all enjoy!
The room reminded me a lot of Lestraude's interrogation room with its white walls and silver borders. The only difference was the silver window. Walking around, I looked for any kind of escape. A shadowy figure moved across the window. I ran over to it and as I plastered my face to it the Doctor's face appeared on the other side.
"Doctor?" My voice squeaked, hoping that he could hear me.
"Jazmine." His voice came through as his hand placed itself where my cheek was.
"We'll get you out, Doctor." I said as he pulled away. I heard him scan the window with the sonic.
"There is something with this window. It's not just a window. It's a..." His voice trailed off as the lights turned on. Two men appeared and pulled the Doctor away from the window. They forcibly pushed him down on to what seemed to be an operating table. One of the large burly men, dressed in black, blocked my view. As if his tormentors wanted me to experience the same agony, the Doctor's tortured screams seemed to bleed through the wall. I sat there in shock for a second, placing my hands over my ears to dull the noise. I slowly backed away from the window, a shocked expression on my face. It seemed as if no matter where I went in the room the picture stayed the same. Every once in a while the Doctor's hand would grasp the empty air above him, hoping to find something or someone that would help him. Hoping to find me.
I didn't realize I was screaming until Matt came and wrapped his arms around my small frame. I pushed him away, not wanting anybody but the man in the other room. Anger burst through me. In an instant, and without really thinking, I tried to burn the window and surrounding wall. Yet no matter how hot the fire got, the wall didn't even char. After about 15 minutes, my arms gave out and the fire stopped. Tears rolled down my face uncontrollably as I watched as my love try to fight off his tormentors, unsuccessfully. Here, stuck in this room, I was powerless. Matt tried to get near me but my body was still bristling with heat. As I approached the window, I did the only thing that would spare him of the pain.
"Stop!" I yelled into the window. "Let him be. Take me! Use me!" The shrieks of the Doctor seemed to stop as one of the burly men stepped away from him and over to me.
"And what good will you be?" The big man asked.
"I'm not human either. Plus I'm pregnant and it most definitely is his." I explained strongly through the window. The remaining tears had slowed. The man seemed to think it over for a second, when he realized that I was the better offer.
"And what about your friend over there? What do we do with him?"
"He's human. As human as you are. You let him go as well."
"No. I'm staying with you!" Matt exclaimed, moving to stand to my left.
"Three for the price of one. That's a great offer." The man said with a sly smile before I could protest Matt's decision. I took a deep breath and I watched the remaining men step away from the Doctor. To give my life for the Doctor's wasn't something I'd give a second though about.
"Deal?" I asked.
"Deal."
THIRD PERSON:
The Doctor finished scanning the window.
"There is something with this window. It's not just a window. It's a screen!" He tried to yell through the wall. He watched as Jazmine backed away from the window in shock. What were they showing her?
"Jaz! It's just a screen! It's not real!" Jazmine's reaction told him that his kidnappers had shut off communication between the rooms. The Doctor began to pound against the window. He scanned it trying to mess with the signal. It was useless as she began to cover the other side of the wall in fire. For one moment, the Doctor was glad he was protected, knowing full well that she could turn him to ash in a matter of seconds. The Doctor watched, frozen, as Jazmine gave her freedom, and possibly life, for him.
"No. Don't!" He groaned as she said the last, most important words to the nonexistent man.
"Deal?
She sacrificed herself only to save a man, he believed, wasn't worth the fight.
JAZMINE'S POV:
Matt and I were escorted through the silver halls of the establishment. The cold metal handcuffs rubbed against my wrist uncomfortably. Six men surrounded us as soon as we turned the corner.
"I wonder where we are going." Matt leaned in and whispered in my ear.
"Judging by the increased security, we are near the boss's office." I replied, watching the guards for any inclination that I was right. It didn't take long before I was shown that I was.
One of the large men around us pushed the steel door open. I jerked away as one of the men tried to grab my handcuffs.
"Don't touch." I growled as I walked into the room.
"I thought you show some respect." A voice came from behind a silver plated desk.
"Jennifer?!" I asked, confused. A lady with a dirty blonde haired bob and dark brown eyes walked out from around the desk. Her tight gray pencil skirt, blazer and stilettos made her look like a smart and sophisticated business women.
"Oh, don't be so surprised sweetheart!" Jennifer said as she walked up to me. She walked around me. I felt her eyes look up and down my body, inspecting me.
"Where are my manners?! Jordan!" She yelled, calling over one of the guards. He immediately came to her side. "Take the cuffs off the girl and her friend. Bring them a chair as well."
It felt so good to be out of the handcuffs. I rubbed my hands together as I took a seat in front of Jennifer's desk.
"So I'm guessing you've known since I was put into the orphanage?" I asked.
"Of course, Honey!" She answered with her high, happy voice. "I don't know if you remember but you had to have a full on inspection. Which included blood tests." She explained, kindly. "That's why I was never far from you." Her smile began to scare me. It was too kind, too potent for her words.
"Remember that little brain scar you had when you were about 10?"
"Of course. I had to go in for surgery for it." Jennifer nodded her head.
"Well actually we implanted a tracking chip." She paused. I tried to keep my anger down and allowed her to continue the story. "But recently you've been going off the radar. And that chip is indestructible. Plus the signal goes out to like mars. So either you've been traveling in time or going way deep into unexplored space." She commented, resting her head on her hands and her elbows on the desk. Matt snorted as I ignored the comment.
"So what I've gathered is that you captured my fiancée and tortured him just to get to me?" Rage boiled inside of me. This wasn't a proper reason to put so many people in danger. My hands clenched in front of me, creating nail marks in my palms.
"Oh honey, don't be so mad!" She said in her fierce motherly voice. "You can send him a letter later." That was the breaking point. I stood up quickly, my face twisted in anger.
"Oh I could make you into ashes right now." I threatened through clenched teeth. I charged at Jennifer, adjusting my hands to the shape of her throat. Just for a second, I realized that her face showed no fear. But it was too late. One of the men grabbed my arm. I felt a pinch and immediately began to lose consciousness. I fell to the ground. In the fading light I saw Jennifer looking down at me.
"If he really loved you, wouldn't you have escaped by now?" She commented as the final light escaped from my eyes.
I hope you all liked it. What will happen next? I guess we'll find out during the last chapter of "Who She Is". As always don't forget to vote and leave questions, comments or suggestions for future chapters.
'Till next time!
