"Alleex."

"Yeah?", I asked walking into the kitchen where I hear my Nana calling my name.

"Can you take the mail to the mail box?", she asks holding out a wad of letters.

"Yeah, sure."

I say taking the letters and heading out the door.

I step outside and a slight southern breeze brushes across my skin. The air smelled fresh. I liked it.

When I reach the mail box that was in our circle like gravel driveway I put the mail in the box and put the flag up. I stand there looking around at my home and the woods and everything else around me.

I loved it here. The nature. Everything. I thought about being a werewolf and how it didn't feel like I had just become only just last year. It was odd how all that time I had wished and hoped and dreamed they were real and they actually were.

I stood there zoned out for a few minutes just thinking. When I decide to go for a run in the woods.

I started walking towards the woods, once I knew I was a safe distance from the house I shed my clothes stashing them in a hollow tree.

Once my clothes were in the tree I shifted into my wolf form. I shook out my silver fur loving how it felt to be in wolf form again. Then I took off running not caring where I was going, all I cared about is how it felt for the wind to be blowing through my fur again.

I ran for a while but slowed down gradually knowing I needed to see how far my paws have taken me this time. Remembering the first time I ran like that I had ran over three counties.

When I came to a stop I looked around me seeing familiar scenery. I had ran to my favorite place. The spot by the lake were I had ran to after my first shift. I had loved this place since the time I found it.

Thinking back to my first shift a pang of sadness hit me as I remembered how I had come to be a werewolf. It had been hard the past year, controlling myself, my anger, my shifting. The littlest things would set me off. My friends helped me though. They were werewolves too. Well except Ember she's a werecat. They always had been and I never knew. Ooh I was so mad at them when I found out. I didn't talk to them for a week. I was also kind of sad too. At first I had thought they hadn't trusted me enough to tell me. But when They told me they hadn't told me because they didn't want me to be afraid of them and not be their friend anymore. I understood why they hadn't told me. Although we were all wereanimals I was different from them. I could do things. Things I still don't understand.

I shook my head bringing myself back to reality. Deciding I would shift back I went over to another hollow tree and grabbed some clothes I had stored there a while ago.

Once I had shifted back and had my clothes on I went and sat by the bank pulling my knees to my chest looking at the water. Then I heard a branch crack to my left. My head snapped towards the sound. On further down the bank was a huge black wolf drinking water from the lake.

I sat there looking at it as it lapped up water into its strong jaws. I was wondering why it hadn't smelt or noticed me yet , then the wind changed direction.

Its massive head suddenly snapped up looking straight at me. It looked shocked for a second then it snarled its nose and growled. It took a step towards me but I didn't budge. I was frozen starring into its bright yellow eyes.

It took another step and I shook my head trying to get out of my daze. I stood up it still walking slowly towards me.

I stood there still looking at the wolf when it growled at me again then it started running at me. The only thing that went through my mind was RUN! So I did.

I ran away from the wolf swiftly dodging trees and jumping over fallen logs. As I kept running fighting the urge to look back and see if the wolf was still behind me.

I finally gave up and looked.

The wolf was hot on my trail.

As I turned back to watch were I was going when I tripped over something and came crashing to the ground hitting my head hard on the dry, hard ground beneath me.

I tried to get up but my body wouldn't budge. Turning my head to see where the wolf was a sudden wave of dizziness hit me making my vision go blurry.

Tiny black dots started to cloud my vision. The last thing I remember seeing is something standing over me. Then all I could see was black....
