I'll be honest that favoritism is my number one pet peeve. In life I try to do everything fair beacuse I do not like when others are not fair to me. Favoritism defeats the entire definition of equality! Maybe it is not even all favoritism but different types of discrimination.
Say two violinists have almost the same skill level and talent. One is a girl and the other is a boy. Maybe they are the same gender and the only difference is age. The elder violinist id going to get a hogher chair ranking. Sports? One person has more experience, yet the other is naturally better at the sport. The person with the experience is chosen. Football? Two athletes with equal speed, agility, strength, stamina, everything you should have to be a successful football player. Which will be first string and which will be second string? Is one more popular? Does the other have connections? Think about this- maybe one of them is a GIRL!!!!! You know who will be first string? NOT THE GIRL!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, but favoritism bugs me SOOOO much and it is wrong! I digress I suppose. Just think before you choose. Life is not fair but that does not mean that we can't try to get close.
