I have been randomly giving a friend some advice. Today I said. "Do it for yourself." We were not talking about anything specific. This friend has been getting closer to someone. I am not very fond of the person, but if they make my friend happy, then I can accept that.
My friend and I have been more distant lately because they did something that really hurt me. It also made me mad, but they apologized profusely. I forgave them, but things are still not the same, and it upsets me. I still care about them so the way I found them, as mentioned in the next paragraph, concerns me. I also feel bad because I am the one that said "Do it for yourself."
Later, I found them upset. I asked if they were okay even though they obviously were not. They told me that they would ve fine after I called them out on lying about being okay. I decided not to push the matter. I get the feeling they asked out the person they were getting close to and got turned down. I had seen them come in the room with the person, but that had become typical.
