The End Never Comes
Today's the day.
Two days have passed, gone by in the blink of an eye, in what felt like seconds.
For hours I've trained with Javin and his brothers, preparing myself for the ambush.
Already I can smell blood and feel the sting of death in the air.
I can only wait for the moment to arrive when I will face him one last time.
Adrenaline pumps my blood, keeping me sane, assuring me that all of this is real.
Once dead and gone, what will happen?
I can only wait and see...

I was only able to get a few hours of sleep last night. Javin didn't have that much sleep, either... We just held each other close. Every now and then he'd kiss my forehead and ask if I was awake. I would nod, place my head on his chest and listen to his heartbeat. The beats, slow and steady, was like music to my ears.
Sam woke us up at six for breakfast. The guys, John, Derek and Alec, took the day off to prepare for the ambush. They (not surprisingly) were all up before Henry, Sam, Javin, and I. Derek left to meet Hunter and the others for a quick meeting with Jake while John and Alec helped around the house. From what I was told, Jake took the news of the ambush quite well. He even dropped by the house to check on us. He didn't talk much but asked me if I was certain I wanted to be the "bait."
"I'll be fine," I assured him as Samantha poured everyone coffee. I thanked her for my cup and continued, "No need to worry for me." He nodded and enjoyed his cup of coffee in silence while Alec passed out slices of toast.
By 9 we were out of the house. Before we left Javin pulled me into the guest room to give me something. When my eyes landed across the leather casing in his hands I felt my heart beat pick up. In his hands he held the hunter's blade, the dagger I'd hidden behind the dresser.
"I want you to use this. It'll protect you." Javin grabbed and opened my right hand and placed the dagger (in it's case) on my palm.
"I don't think I'll need it." I lied as I looked down at the case.
"Well, it'd make me relax more if you had it on you. You never know what'll happen, Ella."
"I know... You know what's weird?" I looked up at Javin and stared into his eyes. Looking at me curiously, his deep blue eyes scanned my face desperately, searching for answers.
"What?" He asked, walking to my side and sitting down on the bed. I joined him as I thought of what to say.
"I'm not scared. I don't feel anything, actually."
"That's a good thing," Javin commented as I rested my head on his left shoulder. "Would you rather be an emotional wreck or emotionless?" I thought about his question and agreed, to feel anything would be wrong. I mean, I'm supposed to kill someone...
"How do you feel?" I asked him. I could feel his body tense up besides me.
"Like a million bucks." He added jokingly, the sarcasm in his voice ringing through clearly. A smile formed at my lips and I softly laughed. After a few seconds of sitting in silence, I looked up at Javin to find his sapphire pearl-like eyes looking at me. That's when his lips found my way to mine and we started kissing.
I ran my hands through his hair as the kissing became more intense. Javin's hands travelled down my back and rested on the side of my hips, pulling me closer to him. As I ran my hands through his hair and down his back I could feel how toned he was. It's as though he has muscles on his muscles.
