Chapter 9 Embarrassed

Fionna's P.O.V.

"OK. So how are we supposed to find her?" I asked wondering about where Cake would be right now if she hadn't been taken.

"Well, my mother's going to go find some stuff out around the nightosphere if there's anything to be found." Marshall glanced at his mom who was just smiling. Creepy...

"I feel like a cop." Ashley said out of nowhere.

"OH!! Wait!! Ashley! Your a witch right?"

"Yep. Forever and always. Why?"

"Well can you track people down?"

".... I don't know. I've never tried. Oh wait there was that one time." Marshall rubbed the back of his neck at that. >.> "So yeah, I can." She smiled.

"Um... OK. Anyway. Can you track down Cake???" I was really eager now. I didn't care that she might be evil, she was going to help us find Cake.

"OK." She started to mess with a watch that I didn't know she had. "OK. So she is in... the Fire Kingdom."

"Oh no."

"Why is that an 'oh no'?" Ashley stared at me.

"That's where my ex lives, Flame Prince-" I didn't get to finish..

Mrs. Abadeer interrupted. "Ooh you dated a prince! Why not take it up a notch." She elbowed Marshall in the side. I started blushing like a strawberry. "Oh Marshall she's blushing!!"

"MOM!" Marshall yelled. He too was blushing, but purple. It was cute- no Fi. Well, maybe. OK I give in. It was cute. (A/N: I enjoyed writing this part. XD)

Ashley couldn't help but burst out laughing. "Fi you were saying." She said in between breathes.

"anyway last time I saw him he nearly killed me because I was breaking up with him, but I did it nicely."

"Well he is probably mad so instead of kidnapping you he kidnapped Cake." Marshall said still glaring at his mother.

"Oh so the prince was a bad boy. Well if you like bad boys, Marshall is too."

"MOM!! SHUT UP!!" I couldn't help but laugh.

"I'll consider it." I said as I stopped laughing.

"Oh Marshall!" She said elbowing him yet again.

"OK LET'S GO!!" Marshall said fumingly opening a portal and leaving. Ashley followed.

"Thanks Mrs. Abadeer!" I said before turning towards the portal.

"But really consider it Fionna dear. I can tell he likes you." At that I turned back around to face her.

"I will." I said before unexpectedly getting pulled through the portal probably by Marshall not wanting me to talk with his mother, but she seems nice. Not mean like Marshall had said.

Mrs. Abadeer's P.O.V.

"Thanks Mrs. Abadeer!" Fionna said before turning to the portal.

"But really consider it Fionna dear. I can tell he likes you." I didn't usually approve of the girls Marshall showed me but she was special. She has a sense of humor, she seems nice. A good girl for my bad boy.

"I will." She said truthfully before she got pulled through the portal probably by my son not wanting me to embarrass him to what he hopes to be his girlfriend. I was in a good mood after that. So what I did was probably unexpected but nice. I had a plan. To help them.

Marshall's P.O.V.

"OK LET"S GO!!" I yelled fumingly opening a portal back home. Ashley followed me in but not Fionna. I gave her a couple of seconds then reached my hand in and grabbed her arm. She was probably talking with my mom before I grabbed her but I just didn't want her to say anything to Fi. I like Fi. I always look forward to seeing her. I know this sounds cheesy but she's the light that helps me see in my dark world.

"OK. So which way is the Fire Kingdom. I need to kick some butt and quick." I said still wanting to punch my mother. I mean she was right. I did like Fi, but I hadn't wanted to tell Fi that I like her. I wasn't ready. But my mom just had to say something. She can be a pain sometimes. She better hope that her little scene helped Fionna and I's "relationship" grow, or she has a couple of punches coming her way.

"Hey Marshall. Grab your umbrella. We need to get to the Fire Kingdom quick. We can't wait till night." Fionna said with a strong voice. Why?

"OK." We walked to the door and I grabbed my umbrella as we left. I closed and locked the door.

"I think I will just teleport. Still can't bring other people with me though. So hurry." She disappeared and left Fionna and I walking to the Fire Kingdom.

"Hey Fionna." I asked.

"Yeah Marshall?" She asked curiously.

"What happened between you and my mom after Ashley and I left?" I asked worried that my mom said something embarrassing.

"Oh. Um. Well she said.." She paused for a moment. "She said for me to really consider dating you, and that you like me." She started blushing and looked away as we both had stopped walking. I looked down. I knew I didn't have a chance with her anymore.

"Hey Marshall. I didn't finish. I said I would."

A tear rolled down my cheek. Me the vampire KING was crying over a human. Well I have to admit she wasn't just any human. She was Fionna. The only human.

"Hey don't worry." She said tilting my head up with her soft little fingers on my chin to look at her. "I don't think anybody could be worse than Flame Prince. He was a total jerk. You have been nice to me. You don't need to worry about what your mom said. I'll still be here no matter what."

I looked up and gave her a weak smile. She smiled back. Not a full smile but a small comforting smile. She has a way of comforting me. So I picked her up bridal style not wanting it to get awkward  just standing there and flew towards the Fire Kingdom. Fionna, after a minute, wrapped her arms around my neck and rested her head on my collarbone. She was shorter than me but that just made her cuter. I was happy about what she said but just kept flying towards the Fire Kingdom without saying anything that would or could ruin this beautiful moment.
