Author's Notes(IMPORTANT)

Hey. So, yeah, I'm back.

I would advise rereading the chapters of Book 2, because I did change a few things. But, not a lot. I did remake Chapter Three, so you may have to go back if you hadn't read it recently.

I  am currently reediting some chapters still from Book 1. Mostly, just typos and fixing other scenarios, but I doubt you would have to reread Book 1 unless you wanted a refresh. I am a little rusty, considering I haven't been writing for years, but thanks for reading!

* * * * *

I woke up before anyone's alarm clocks have rung. I looked around the chilly dimmed dormitory, glancing over to Gwen's bed to my left, where she slept silently and Atticus bundled under the covers with her, it might as well be her cat at this point. I turned to my right and narrowed my eyes to see Viola Summers sleeping soundly in her bed. Why did she have to bunk with us? No one else did. The whole Slytherin Common room kept their distance from me, knowing I was supposed-to-be "Slytherin Princess".

I crept out of my bed and tiptoed to the bath, where I showered in hot water and lathered in citrus soaps. By the time I walked out of the bath, Gwen and Viola was already up; Gwen was giving herself a small French braid beside the hair, showing off one ear. She really did look beautiful with short hair. Viola was up as well, grabbing her towel and heading into the bath.

"Morning," she said as she glanced my way, closing the door behind her. As I heard the shower run, I scoffed. "Hurry up," I whispered as I walked towards Gwen, digging in my wardrobe, "Let's ditch her."

"Well, that's not very nice," Gwen said, buttoning her uniform shirt, "She seems harmless."

"Are you insane?" I gasped, throwing on my uniform, "Have you forgotten what she's done last year? How she outed and nearly killed me?"

Gwen winced at the sudden memory, but also shrugged it off. "She seems," she said as she gazed at the bathroom door, "I dunno, different. She doesn't seem to want to hang out with her old group and there's reason. And, didn't you both hit it off as friends during the summer?"

I scoffed, "Are you serious? Me? and Summers? Friends? We had one mission together and got cursed in the end. We barely spoke a word."

"Yes, but you both had an understanding and related to each other. Even if it were for a minute, I could tell Viola took it seriously. I think she's fond of you now." I rolled my eyes. Fond of me? The only thing she ever fond over was bullying, gossip, and stealing boyfriends. I could also mention murder. But, I stood there, arms folded with my book bag slung over my shoulder waiting for Viola. Strange how this year begins, I manage to befriend a bully I swore to hate.

As Viola got done ready, all three of us walked out towards the common room, eying the new first years who looked very eager to start their new year. "Poor bastards," Viola sneered as we passed them by and headed out the dungeons, "Laughing and parading like this is the greatest adventure they've been on."

"Yeah, well, they can because they're Slytherin," Gwen pointed out as we made our way to the Great Hall, "Now for the first years that made it in any other house... Well..."

"I don't even want to think about that, I just want to eat my pain away and get my schedule!" I said.

"Pain?" scoffed Viola, "And what pain is that? You're Draco Malfoy's fiance and Snape's little pet, what are you so afraid?" I stopped in my tracks, looked at Viola who stopped in confusion.

"What did you call me?" I asked, my words laced with venom. Viola smiled as though what she told me was not at all insulting and said, "Yeah, you heard right. You're marrying Draco Malfoy which puts yourself into high rank popularity. And, for being Snape's little pet-- I mean, no one can touch you here."

"Why the hell are you calling me Snape's little pet?!" I pressed on, as I followed them while they continued to walk on.

"Oh," Viola took a second to think about what she was about to say and spoke, "I mean, you must've been the one student who had like the most detentions with Professor Snape, aside from the Weasley Twins when they were here. Let alone the times he asked you to stay after class, the times he was tutoring you for some odd reason... I mean, and the rumors--"

"What rumors?" I noticed Gwen gritting her teeth and wincing at my reply, though she looked like she knew something that I didn't, "Gwen? What rumors?"

"Ha ha," she replied with an exhausted laugh, "Nothing crazy! Some of our classmates thought you both... I don't know-- they thought Snape was trying--"

"We thought you were banging the Potions Master," Viola laughed.

I turned bright red, "That was a rumor going around-- Gwen? You knew that, why didn't you tell me?"

"That was just a thing going around when she," Gwen pointed at Viola, "Started the rumor about you with Draco and Blaise. It died down when you were really dating Draco, anyway! No one says that anymore."

I stopped dead in my tracks. Gwen and Viola stopped a couple feet from me and we were just few feet from the Great Hall doors. "Alright," I breathed clenching my teeth and my nails digging into the strap of my book bag, "New rule if we want to be friends-- Do not keep secrets from each other! Ever." Gwen raised her hands and said, "I cross my heart!" and Viola rolled her eyes as she crossed her arms and said, "Yes, sure... Can we eat now? It wasn't such a big deal, it's not like you're screwing the Headmaster, or would."

Gwen looked at me wide eyed, but I let out a relieved sigh and avoided that reply. We walked into the Great Hall and towards our table to start breakfast. As we ate our meal, picking off the large rounded gold plates of toasts and pancakes and assorted jams, I heard a gruff yet soothing voice behind me.

"Miss Wilson! Miss Summers, Miss Wales! I do have your schedule right here, my dears." It was Professor Slughorn, holding a pile of parchment in a leather folder. I turned around and smiled saying, "Thank you, Professor." He handed our schedules and went to the next students. As I held my schedule, I couldn't stop, but think of the time Severus given me my schedule last year. This man was still flooding my mind any chance he gets and I shuddered at the thought. I missed him...

Stop it! I argued in my mind, trying to focus on my schedule, but my eyes couldn't help, but trail to the staff table. A few professors were there, eating and talking amongst each other, though some were missing to prepare their next class. Right in the middle was an empty armchair and Severus was nowhere to be seen. I took a deep breath and ripped my eyes from that table, only to look at Summers who looked uneasy.

"Are you okay," I asked and she scoffed as she tossed her schedule to the table.

"I got the Dark Arts class," she muttered, going back to her plate, but merely stared at it as she lazily held her fork and mutilated her eggs.

"I didn't need to take that class, so I guess I'm in the clear," Gwen said, looking completely relieved.

I fumbled with my schedule in my hands and stared at it, my focus clear on the subjects.

"Crap," I grunted,  "I didn't even have Defense Against the Dark Arts last year, why am I in it this year?"

"Obviously because The Dark Lord wants us to take this class," Summers said low enough for only Gwen and I to hear, "The mission isn't going to be our last, that's for sure."

I wanted to doubt that. But, she was right. We were going to have to do a mission again, I was sure of it. And, I couldn't imagine the horrors we'll have to do in our new Dark Arts class. This year is certainly going to be interesting.
