But nothing prepared me for what I saw.

"Ron?" My eyes widened. "Michonne said she killed you."

"Just come here." He told me.

I walked up to him and stroked his face. Something about his wasn't right. His breathing was hoarse and ragged. He wrapped his arms around me. I laid my head on his shoulder, I heard a gun shot go off as he was about to kiss my neck. I screamed and watched him fall to the ground. It wasn't the same him I had seen moments ago. He had a slice through his shoulder and his eyes were dark and gray. I felt my back for scratches and rubbed my neck. I fell on the ground next to him.

"Rhylee! What were you doing?" My dad shouted.

"I don't know. I thought it was really him."

"Are you blind?" He screamed.

"I- I'm sorry."

"Get in the infirmary! Now!" He pushed me toward the house.

I walked up the steps and brushed past Michonne. She reached out to me and I whipped away from her. I stormed up the stairs in the infirmary. Rick came upstairs and sat next to me. He sighed, "Did she tell you?" I nodded.

"She did it for a reason. I know you won't listen to her, but please Rhylee, listen to me. She had a reason. My son is laying in there on a hospital bed and he might be dead if she hadn't done something. I know you're mad at her, but don't shut her out. She had to Rhy." He squeezed my knee and stood up. He headed toward the door but he stopped and looked at me, "you're an okay kid. I'm glad my son has you in his life."

"Thank you, Rick." I told him.

I pulled my knees to my chest and laid my head against the wall. I started to remember things I didn't want to.

*Flashback*

"You know, I've never met anyone like you, Rhy."

"Is that a good thing?" I laughed.

"It's the best thing. When this is all over, when we survive this, I'm going to marry you."

"Why not just marry me here? In Alexandria. That way there's no way to say if we survive this we'll get that. What if we don't?" I sighed.

"We are going to make it. We don't have to deal with the outside world anymore. We have walls Rhy."

"Walls make you weak, Ron." I told him.

He grabbed my hand and smiled. He grinned from ear to ear before leaning in to kiss me. I turned my head and released his hand. He stopped smiling and looked at the ground.

"I don't know if I want to go that far. I love being your friend, but I still love Noah. I don't know if I'm ready to move to someone else yet. I'm not like that." I stood up and looked at him, "I should go. I'm really sorry, Ron."

*New Flashback*

"You're great. Rhylee, can I tell you something?"

"Of course." I smiled.

"I thought when you rejected me when I tried to kiss you, you wouldn't ever speak to me again. I'm glad you are because there is still so much I haven't told you."

"Like what?" I asked, suddenly wondering if this walk was a good idea.

"I really love you, Rhylee. I still want to kiss you." Ron grabbed my hand.

"And I still don't know that I'm ready for that. Ron, I care about you, just not in that way."

"Rhylee, please, I love you." He grabbed my face.

I pulled away. "Don't!"

"Hey!" I heard a voice shout.

"What are you doing here?" Ron called.

"Doesn't matter. You need to get away from her."

"Are you gonna make me?" Ron called back.

"Don't do this, Ron."

"Are you going to make me? I asked you if you were going to make me. Well?" Ron asked.

"I will if I have to." I turned around and saw Carl standing there.

*End of Flashback*

Could it be possible that Carl is in the state he's in because of Ron?

"Rhylee, come downstairs. Denise is going to look at your ankle."

I slowly got up and  went downstairs.

"Just one second. I need to find Michonne."

I limped through the doorway and down the porch steps. She wasn't sitting on the steps where she had been earlier. I wandered out into the street and  I saw a figure standing in the street.

"Michonne?" I called out to the figure.

"Rhylee. You're speaking to me now?"

"I understand. I didn't at first, but Rick talked to me and I remembered things. Things about Ron and Carl, and I believe you if you say you had no choice. If you hadn't done what you did Carl could be-- he could be dead, and I can't thank you enough for doing what you had to do, and for having the courage to tell me yourself. I'm sorry that I acted the way I did. I'm not mad at you. I admit that I was, but that was before I realized that you had a reason. You aren't a murderer, and I realize that now. Forgive me?"

"I forgive you, Rhy."

I turned to the infirmary and went back in. When I got there they were all looking at me.

"We have new news about Carl."
