Chapter 42: Responsibility

Riley's Pov
I can't believe him!!! I don't care if he drinks but NOT with our daughter with him.
"Mommy where daddy and sissy?" Jacob asks waking up.
"They're on their way home, go back to sleep little man." I say covering him up and kiss his cheek.
He yawns. "Otay mommy." he says.
I watch as he falls asleep and wait for Matt to get his fucking ass home.
"Riley?" Aeryn calls out.
"I'm upstairs in mine and Matt's room." I say quietly hoping she heard me.
She walks in helping Matt even though he looks somewhat sober and holds Hailey in her other arm.
"Thanks Aeryn for bringing him home." I say kinda bitter and she lays Hailey down.
"No problem, night." she says walking out before I start yelling

"I'm so sorry Rils." Matt says dropping his head in his hands.
"Matt you had a responsibility of watching Hailey and you get drunk while she's under your care." I say with my arms cross.
"I know I should've brought her home and then drink." he mumbles.
"Yes you should have Matthew." I say trying to tone it down.
He looks at me crying quietly and I let go of the anger and wrap my arms around him.
"I really am sorry Riley." he says burying his face against my neck.
"I know Matty, yes I'm mad but I forgive you. Let this be your warning." I say laying my head on his shoulder.
"Thanks baby." he says holding me closer.
"Anytime babe." I say kissing his cheek.
"They're too cute." he says watching them sleep beside each other .
I look at them and smile. "That's because we did a good job with them." I say.
He smiles back. "Yes we did, just hopefully they stay this way." he says laughing.

I giggle. "Me too babe." I say laying against him watching them sleep peacefully.
He wraps his arms from behind around me. "Do you ever think we'll ever have more kids?" he asks.
"Maybe one day babe I'm not really sure." I say closing my eyes.
"That's ok baby no rush." he says kissing my neck and I smile.
"I know babe." I say yawning.
He sings softly to me and I snuggle into him falling asleep.
