Steve's POV

   Steve knew loss.
For about forty years he was inside a block of ice, not aging or fully awake. When he woke up, the world as he knew it was gone. His friends moved on, or some dead, like Bucky.
But Bucky wasn't really dead, and Steve knew that. He wished he could have his friend and partner back, but he knew that would take time.
   Then there was Peggy.
Steve still didn't know how to do it.
He knew where Peggy lived, he knew her number. But he couldn't do it. No matter how many times he walked up to her door, no matter how many times he dialed her number, Steve couldn't knock the door or click call.
No matter how many battles Steve had been in, he couldn't gather the guts to knock on the door and tell Peggy that he was alive. He had once looked into the window of her house. She was happy, with grandkids. He didn't want to mess that up for her. Seeing a man you once loved that you thought was dead didn't exactly scream good time. But Steve knew the right moment would come.
From the sounds of it though, Percy was having it rough. Losing your girlfriend by a woman you hate? At least Steve knew Peggy was alive and happy, he couldn't say the same thing about Annabeth. Steve had a lot of sympathy for Percy at the moment. Things at the moment were happening so fast for him. In the same night Percy lost his girlfriend and joined a group that Percy would have to fight a lot of battles that could have him end up killed. Not exactly a good time either.
On the upside, Steve learned something about himself; he is one heck of an eavesdropper. First that night in the car, now in the jet. He probably knew Percy more then Percy wanted him too. Apparently Percy didn't break much, and he acted like he was happy most of the time, and when he cried things were pretty bad.
Steve tried his best to block all thoughts related to death, Percy, Avengers, and his life in general. That left... Poetry and classical music.
Given his choices, Steve focused on driving the jet and the great scenery of clouds.

When Steve finally touched down on the roof of the tower he immediately got up and went to go get Percy. From prior experience, Steve knew that the bullet should be removed as soon as possible. Steve picked up Percy and headed into the tower with Thalia and Piper trailing after him.
"JARVIS," Steve called out. "Where's Tony?"
"He's in the lab, sir. Should I warn him that you are coming?"
"Just tell him to get ready to use his medical skills."
"Right away, sir," JARVIS said. Steve kept sprinting down hallways and stairs, knowing that Tony's lab was a few floors below him. He was pretty surprised that Thalia and Piper ran after him all the way, and that Percy stayed sleeping. He wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing.
Steve was about to head down another hallway when he was stopped by a big green Hulk.
Behind him, Thalia and Piper gasped. Steve wasn't that surprised, you could never know if you would see the scientist or the monster. Both of them were in control.
"What's wrong with Jackson?" Hulk grunted.
"He got shot, we need to go to Tony's lab," Steve said urgently.
"Humans hurt too easily. Who are they?" Hulk pointed at Thalia and Piper.
"Percy's friends, can you move now?"
Hulk made an annoyed sound. "Too many visitors."
   "Hulk!"
"Fine." Hulk moved out of the way. Steve continued jogging. When he got to the labs floor, he noticed Percy was sweating, sweating from what? Steve just opened the door and stomped through. "Tony!"
Tony appeared from behind a machine he was working on. "What? Seriously, can you be any vaguer? First you just leave with the AvengJet to OHIO, of all places without saying anything. And then you come back and JARVIS tells me to get my medical skills ready? What-" Tony stopped when he saw Percy, Thalia, and Piper. "First off, who are these people and what happened to Percy?"
"Help Percy now, ask questions later. He got shot," Steve said.
"How'd he get-" Tony cut off his sentence when he saw the look Steve was giving him. "Bring him to the other room, there's a table there put him there. JARVIS, initiate Project Nurse."
   Thalia snorted. "Project Nurse?"
Tony looked at her. "When you invent a machine that can save people's medical lives you can call it whatever you want."
Steve didn't interject, which he normally would've done. Instead he laid Percy on the table, and watched Project Nurse work.
Machines were flying around and coming together, as if they had a mine of its own. Steve had to dodge a few flying pieces. When they were done flying together, they created a mechanical doctors work space, there was a tray next to the table full of doctor tools. There was a claw or two alive on the ceiling and a heart monitor. Steve was glad that the monitor was working clearly. A bright light shone on the table.
Tony, Thalia, and Piper appeared next to him. "I see why you call it Project Nurse," Thalia said.
"Great." Tony looked at Steve. "Now are you going to answer my questions?"
Steve sighed. "Fine, but quickly. We don't know who shot Percy, that's what Thor's doing right now. That's Thalia and that's Piper McLean. They're friends of Percy. That good enough for you?"
"Few more things," Tony continued, "Isn't Piper's dad a movie star? Why do Percy's friends keep visiting? And didn't Thalia electrocute Hawkeye?"
"Yes, my dads a movie star," Piper sighed.
"And he wouldn't let me in, I didn't have a choice," Thalia complained,
"Percy's girlfriend died, now can you please help Percy!" Steve shouted.
Tony put his hands up like a surrender. "Pushy, pushy. But I still have more questions-"
"Later," the three of them snapped together.
Tony looked at them grinning. "Okay, okay. Ladies and Cap, sit back relax and enjoy of how I heal Mr. Jackson using, Project Nurse."
