Percy's POV

"Okay," Annabeth said gently pulling away. "I got to go."
"Yeah," Percy responded, pecking her on the cheek lightly.
"Night, love you." And Annabeth closed the door.
The second the door clicked shut Percy sensed something was wrong. There was a clap of thunder, a flash of lightning, then nothing. Nothing at all.
Percy raced out the door with Riptide in his hand, uncapped. He looked around for Annabeth. Annabeth was no where to be seen.
"Annabeth?" Percy called out. Even he could hear the panic creeping up in his voice. "Annabeth! Are you there?"
   No response.
Percy was about to wake the whole camp up, when a voice behind him said, "No, she's not there."
Percy whipped around to find a seven foot tall woman with dark chocolate hair braided down her back looking at him. Her dress was white, but when she moved, colorful light shimmered off it.
   "Hera," Percy snarled.
The goddess raised an eyebrow. "Ah, Percy Jackson one of the seven saviors of Olympus. Again."
"Where's Annabeth? What did you do to her?!" Percy shouted, not caring if he was being rude or waking someone up.
"I did what I had to do." Hera looked at the ground, next to Percy, and Percy followed her gaze. He found himself looking at a pile of ashes.
"No," Percy muttered. "NO!" Percy screamed.
Percy felt tears grow in his eyes, but he pushed them down, he wasn't going to cry in front of a goddess. "You. Killed. Her! You killed her! You killed one of my best friends, my girlfriend, the love of my life, you KILLED HER!!!" Hera's face darkened. "You pretty much killed a part of me. Annabeth had survived everything, all we had been through together. Annabeth survived TARTARUS, and she's saved your butt plenty of times and now she dies at the hands of, of YOU! I don't care how disrespectful she was, you deserved it! And you deserve this right now."
Hera's nostrils flared. "Perseus Jackson you dare-"
"Oh, I dare all right," Percy shouted back waving his sword around. "I dare because after all I've done for you, after all I've done for you, WITH ANNABETH, you killed her!"
"It was for the best. It was a Council decision," Hera protested.
"It was for the best for who?" screamed Percy. "You? You and all your Olympian friends? Well, it's not best for anyone down here! You don't care what happens as long your family is perfect. I can't believe you did this. No wait, I take that back. I DO believe you did this because no other goddess or god or creature would be as thick headed as you to kill Annabeth.
"Do you know how much I loved Annabeth? I gave up being a god for her. I went across the country for her. I solely survived going on the quest in Alaska on the memory of her face. I fell into TARTARUS for her! That's how much I loved her, and you killed her. You killed her. I don't care what the reason is, I'm never helping you gods again. Never."
Percy felt his arms steaming up under the glare of the goddess. Not a good sign, but Percy didn't care. Hera had killed Annabeth. Annabeth was gone, and Percy wasn't with her.
"Perseus Jackson, that was the final insult. You are now, hereby banished from the Greek world. You may no longer go to Camp Jupiter or Camp Half-Blood, you may no longer visit Olympus, or any other godly home. You are not welcome."
Percy's mouth tasted like dirt. No longer to be able to be at camp? No longer to be able to hang out with friends? Percy pushed those thoughts aside. It would be too painful to be at any camp without Annabeth.
"Fine!" Percy shouted, capping Riptide. "I was leaving anyway."
"Oh you were?" Hero remarked. "That's good. And I warn you, Mr. Jackson. You got lucky this time, next time you ever talk to me that way, I WILL turn you into a ferret." And with that, the goddess materialized into thin air.
Instead of sadness, Percy felt angry. Without taking anything besides Riptide, he left Camp Half Blood and headed out into the mortal world. With no note, no nothing. Percy Jackson was on his own. He could've gone to his mom's apartment, but he didn't want family at the moment. He just wanted to be alone.
Percy walked along heading to Montauk beach, he wanted to be somewhere familiar. He'd gone there for as long as he could remember. He could be there alone, in peace.
While Percy trudged to the beach, his mind was empty. He felt like he weighed as much as a pile of feathers. He felt like his blood was sap, and that his insides were mush. Annabeth was always there when he most needed her, and now she wasn't, she would never be there.
Percy reached Montauk, the moonlight reflected off the sea. Percy took a second to look at the view then collapsed on the shore and started sobbing.
Annabeth was gone. Percy would never see the smirk she made whenever he did something remarkably stupid. She'd never hear his voice again. Never kiss her, never see her beautiful gray eyes. Percy would never hear her call him a Seaweed Brain again. He could see Annabeth's face perfectly. The way her curly blond hair fell over her shoulder. The way her stormy gray eyes twinkled when she was happy. The way she smiled, and when she kissed him every time he did something stupid.
"You drool when you sleep," had been her first words to him. "Night, love you," had been her last to him and all in general.
"I love you too, Wise Girl," Percy choked out. He remembered Hera's words about how this was a council decision. Athena wouldn't vote for her daughters death. Poseidon wouldn't do this to his son. Would they? Maybe Hera lied.
But it didn't matter. Annabeth was gone.
Tears poured like a river down his face. Percy started shaking and could barely keep himself from falling over, even though he was sitting. Percy rarely cried. He felt like he was choking on his own air, his chest hurt like crazy, and he made these whimpering sounds that on any other time, he would've been embarrass.
He had been right there, RIGHT there, when it had happened, and he couldn't stop it. Percy looked up and glared at the sky. "WHAT DID I DO WRONG? WHAT DID ANNABETH DO WRONG? WHAT DID WE DO TO DESERVE THIS? WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DO THIS?"
   The sky rumbled in response.
Percy stood up and shook his fist at the sky. "YEAH, I'M TALKING TO YOU ZEUS, THIS IS PARTLY YOUR FAULT TOO!"
The sea roared and waves hit Percy's face, but it didn't bother him. He wasn't even wet.
"EXCUSE ME, DAD! I JUST HAD MY HEART RIPPED OUT, CAUSED BY THE GODS, SO I THINK I CAN SHOUT AT THE SKY!"
Percy knew the next time he saw his dad, if he ever saw his dad again, he would get his butt whooped. But Percy didn't care. He sat down again and put his head in his knees and started crying again. Rain poured down from above.
"WE HAD PLANS!" Percy screamed at the sky again. "WE WERE GOING TO COLLEGE AND LIVE TOGETHER. I WAS GOING TO MARRY HER." Percy had kept the ring under his pillow and looked at it every night to remind him that there was still good in the world. But with Annabeth gone, he didn't think that any more.
Percy sobbed, sobbed and cried like he had never done before. Percy was pretty decent at hiding his emotions. But Percy had no reason to hide his sorrow now. He screamed into his hands and cried an ocean out. Wise Girl was dead. Dead. Gone.
Percy's emotions were out of control. The ocean responded to his state of manner.
The waves were rising up to ten feet, smashing at the shoreline and the rocks. Sally Jackson's cabin was getting soaked. Rain pounded on Percy making his night even worse. Percy screamed into his hands louder, and a fifteen foot wave rose up and crashed on Percy, soaking him to the bone. When Percy concentrated, he couldn't get wet. But why bother? Percy vowed to let himself get wet as long as he lived. Out of rage, Percy summoned water to form around him like he was in a bubble. He was so forceful that it exploded, leaving crystallized particles in the air.
Eventually, the rain simmered down. The waves stopped crashing and Percy calmed down.
Percy looked at the night sky and saw all the constellations Annabeth had taught him. Hercules (even though the guys a jerk), Sagittarius, and Zoë Nightshade. Annabeth would be in Elysium with Zoë.
"Wise Girl, say hello to Zoë for me," Percy called out to the stars. Speaking of hello's... "Bob says hello."
Bob the Titan, Percy thought angrily. You will come back, even if I have to go to Tartarus and drag you out of there. And we'll pick up Damasen on the way.
Percy sat there in silence remember old friends.
And then a car pulled up.
