"Stark, get your metal butt in here!"
Tony cringed as his earpiece got feedback from Mr. Loud Mouth Agent Fury, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D, shouted.
"Really, Fury," Tony muttered as he headed towards the meeting room of Stark Towers. "I'm in the other room, you couldn't just walk?"
   "I heard that," Fury barked.
Tony sighed. "One eye, two ginormous ears."
"I heard that too." Tony thought of multiple things to say, but didn't say them. All of them ended with Fury yelling louder, which would make his ear hurt. For the sake of his ear, Tony decided not to say anything at all.
Tony entered the meeting room receiving some annoyed looks from a few of his fellow Avengers. "I'm sorry, I can't help it if I'm fashionably late."
"Yes you can," said Steve Rogers, aka Captain America. Or as Tony liked to call him, Capsicle.
   "Hm? And how is that?"
   "Get a watch."
"Too old fashion, too boring," Tony said as he sat down next to Cap. "Maybe if I got this thing branded into my skin that-"
"Or," Natasha Romanoff interrupted. "We can find out why Fury actually called us in here."
The six Avengers looked expectantly at Director Fury.
"I called this emergency meeting for an important reason," Fury started.
   "Which is...?" Clint Barton asked.
Fury glared at Clint with his one good eye. Tony made a mental note to annoy Fury more often. "You are getting a new Avenger."
   Pandemonium broke out.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Tony said to particularly no one. "Can't we decide whether or not we get a new member?"
"Is he qualified? Will he actually work?" Steve said at the same time.
Banner was muttering to himself in his usual soft voice. "This isn't going to work, statistics show that another member will unbalance us, we'll..." He rambled off in a genius way to himself.
Clint was debating whether or not he newbie would be any use. "He's going to be like Parker, just another kid."
Black Widow argued with him. "He could be an elite fighter. He, or she, could be an archer, like you. Maybe be better."
"Impossible," Clint said aiming an arrow at a fly that buzzing around. Clint let the arrow loose and the fly was pinned up against the wall by its wings, still alive. "I'm the best there is."
   "Show off," Romanoff grumbled.
Fury looked annoyed, as usual. Thor was the only one not saying anything.
The Avengers, minus Thor, would've kept bickering and arguing all day long, until Thor brought out his hammer and it crackled with electricity.
Thor glared at everyone. "Stop your useless bickering. Let Director Fury say what the recruits name is."
Tony again, thought of a few things to say, but given the fact that Thor's hammer was out, Tony decided today was not the day he wanted to become a pile of ashes.
"Your new teammate is not a known hero, but he is slightly known, though in not flattering ways," Fury proceeded.
Tony grew impatient. If he was Fury, he would just say it. The new recruit is... Blah blah blah. "Spit it out," Tony prodded.
"Let the man speak, Stark," Rogers groaned.
"I am!" Tony protested. "But he's taking forever to say the name!"
"I'll say the name!" Fury snapped. "His name, is Percy Jackson."
   The room was silent.
Tony opened his mouth to say something real smart like, "We're choosing this random kid because..." But Thor beat him to it.
Thor gasped. "You mean Perseus Jackson?"
   Fury nodded.
"This is great news. I will finally meet the hero and savior of Olympus!"
"You know this kid?" Tony asked.
"Uh, Thor? Care to elaborate?" Steve said.
"Back in Asgard, kids dream to grow up like him, and me of course," Thor started to explain.
"I bet the kid's more humble," Tony coughed.
Thor didn't even acknowledge Tony. "When the lad was just twelve, he fought a god, and won!"
   "A god?" Natasha wondered.
Thor's face turned pale. "Never mind. But he is a great hero, leader, and friend."
"And how old is this hero, leader, and friend?" Clint asked.
   "He should be about eighteen."
"What?" Rogers exploded. "We're letting a teenager fight our battles with us?"
"This is not just a teenager," Thor growled. "This warrior has been to hell and back, he has been through adventures as dangerous and harrowing as ours are. Maybe in more."
"Oh, so he's fought an alien race army?" Banner snapped.
"Not that I know of, but he fought an entire army with just a sword and held the weight of the sky. One of my favorite songs in Asgard, is about that though..." Thor's voice trailed off, lost in memories.
"He has songs written about him?" Tony asked incredulously.
   "Yes, almost sung every day."
   "Excuse me for not knowing."
"You are excused Man of Iron," Thor said, oblivious to Tony's sarcasm.
"Whatever. I'm not letting a teenager fight our battles. No kid should go through this," Steve argued.
Thor nearly whacked Clint in the head with his hammer. "What? Neigh. This is no ordinary teenager! He could face any battle we have done. Read his books."
   "His books?" Natasha asked.
"Yes," Thor looked surprised. "Haven't you read the 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians' series before?"
"It's on my to do list," Tony replied.
Thor sighed exasperated. "Not now, let's just go find the boy!"
"How are we going to do that?" Clint inquired, picking his teeth with a toothpick.
"Don't you earthlings brag every day about your technology and how great it is? Use that!"
Banner and Tony both opened their mouths to make a comment when Steve threw something on the table. "Guys, look at this. It's messed up."
Tony grabbed the file. "Where'd you get this?"
"While you were having a nice time arguing, Fury gave me the kids file."
Thor's face was as red as a tomato. "He's not a-"
"Kid, yeah whatever," Tony finished. He looked at the page.

Tony laughed out loud. "This guy is amazing!"
"Why, what did he do?" Natasha said.
"Aw, I should've done this as a kid! He 'accidentally' blew up a bus and hit the wrong lever and sent his whole class to a little trip to a tank full of sharks, with blood!" Tony was actually astounded. Sure, he had gotten in trouble when he was a kid, but this was a whole new level of of annoyance. The kid had been kicked out of so many schools it was difficult to count. Tony looked up to that. He had a...similar problem.
"Also it says here," Steve began taking the file from Tony's hands. "That he was a fugitive, fell off the St. Louis Arch, threatened a guy with a gun, blew up Mount St. Helens, and a school or two."
"And you're excited about this because...?" Fury questioned.
"This kid is a genius! Let's go meet him!" Tony put on a jacket. "Jarvis, where is this kid?"
"My resources say that he is at Montauk beach at the moment," the British computerized voice informed him.
   "Montauk beach, here we come!"
