"It's stage one, very early, and treatment is usually very successful. The survival rate is almost 100% and the chance of relapse is only about 30% so everything should work out okay." He explained. I dropped the phone and my hands covered my face.

"When, Allen?" Louis asked.

"A month ago." He choked out.

"This happened a month ago and you didn't bother to tell me?" I yelled.

"Bay, I knew this would happen! I started treatment three weeks ago and they said that the tumor has already reduced to half the original size!" My dad defended.

"I-I can't. This is too much." I got up and went into our bathroom.

"Allen, I'll calm her down. I'll tell her. Bye." Louis told him and knocked on the bathroom door.

"Baby, please let me in." Louis begged.

"Lou-"

"Bay, we both know I can help you feel better and relax. I know you're upset but I'm your husband and I want to help you get through this." He said through the door. I stood up and unlocked the door. He immediately pulled me into his chest and I started bawling.

"I can't lose him, Louis! This is terrifying! I already lost my mum, I can't lose my dad too!" I cried. Just then I got a call from Beth.

"Hello?" Louis answered as I quietly cried into his chest.

"How are you- is that Bailey crying?" I heard her ask.

"Can I tell her?" He whispered to me.

"Have them come over. I'll pull it together." I breathed. I wiped my face off as he told Beth to come over. I put on some makeup to cover up that I'd been crying and walked with Louis downstairs.

"Bay, what happened?" Beth asked.

"I- Uh. My dad has stage one thyroid cancer." I stuttered. Her jaw dropped and she immediately hugged me.

"What's the survival rate?" She asked.

"Nearly 100%. But chance of relapse is 30%."

"That's really good!" She gasped.

"And he's been in treatment for 3 weeks and the tumor is already half the size of what it was at the start." Louis added.

"I can't lose him like my mum." I told her.

"Your mum told me the day Louis met her to make sure you two ended up together. Turns out you guys didn't need my help." Beth smiled and I hugged her back.

"Thanks, Beth. Love you." I whispered.

"Love you too, Bay."

"It's late. You guys should get some sleep. Bye." Liam spoke up and they hugged us before leaving.

"Shit, the party is tomorrow. I seriously do not want to cook all day." I groaned.

"I can call the caterer. I told them we might need their help tomorrow for his party around 4." He whispered.

"I love you so much." I told him.

"I'll take that as a yes." He laughed and I nodded.

"I'll call them now." He mumbled as he pulled out his phone and hugged me. He was playing with the ends of my hair and running his hands through it as he talked on the phone.
