~~~~~~~~Chapter 20 part 1~~~~~~~
I brush my fingers through my hair when the railing ends. Amy, McKenzie, Savannah, Aden, and I run into the Pit, coming from the Chasm. We all stop once we enter, all taken aback by the amount of people in here. The Pit contains more families from different factions than I expected to come.Aden walks away towards the cluster of parents not Dauntless. For some odd reason, they all seem to be standing to only one side of the Pit, while the Dauntless parents are sticking to the opposite side.
Amy, McKenzie, Savannah, and I walk towards the group of Dauntless parents, glancing at the other parents from Candor, Erudite, and Abnegation. It's so strange seeing the parents in the Dauntless Compound. I smile when I think about if they had to jump off the train like we did.
My mom and dad have not come to The Pit yet. My dad is probably taking longer to get here because of his injury, though he said he would be here by now. Even my friends and I are a few minutes late so my parents should be in The Pit soon.
While Amy, McKenzie, and Savannah walk away to find their parents, I decide to lean against the rock wall and watch everyone. The Pit seems brighter than usual which is strange since most of the light is coming from the glass roof. I look up and squint my eyes from the bright light from the glass panes. Quickly, I look away and blink.
This time I stare at the other parents. My eyes are automatically drawn to the parents in blue. The woman has her brown hair, streaked with gray, pulled back in a tight ponytail and is wearing a blue dress. She seems to be staring daggers at the Dauntless parents. The man wears a blue suit and stands tall. His hand rests on the small of the woman back, so they must be parents to one of the transfers.
I make a mental note of their son. The boy has brown hair like is mother, but a kind face. He seems timid when he walks up to his parents, but both of their faces change once they see him. The woman smiles, while the man pats him on the shoulder.
The boy could easily be one of the spies, but his kind face says otherwise. I can't imagine him being one of them. Although, one of the male spies did seem timid and scared so it could be this boy. I shake away these thoughts while I look for Aden's family.
I see the green eyes before anything else. Aden isn't looking at me though, he is looking for his sister. He seems to notice her at the same I see her. Aria, Aden's sister, stands further away from the clusters of people and on the opposite side of the Pit from me.
Although I am far away, I can still see her face light up once she sees him. She wears gray pants and jacket with the typical tight bun. Aden looks completely different with his basic black Dauntless clothes.
He stands there awkwardly once he meets her, but their lips are moving so I know they're talking. She looks as if she is about to cry, but soon Aden gives in and gives her a hug.
I know he's not supposed to seem so attached because it will seem like he regrets transferring. Most of the Dauntless look down on that. "We take the phrase, 'faction before blood' very seriously here." I have heard my dad say that many times.
