Chapter 12

A/N: Sorry guys for the late update. I've been sick with a bad case of writer's block. You may want to back away from your computer or phone a few more inches...Well..Four has finally been cast!! Two days later, I am finally out of the hospital.

While everyone is eating breakfast, I make my way back to the dormitory to shower and change into some clean clothes. I open the door and walk into the unusually quiet room. Grabbing some black clothes, I hear the dormitory door open again behind me. I glance to see who is coming in.

"What are you doing in here? This is the Dauntless born's dormitory." I say, not making eye contact.

"I saw you come in here on my way to breakfast." Aden walks closer towards me. I catch my breath when I look into his green eyes.

"Okay."  I turn to face him and we both stand there awkwardly.

"I-"

"Look we-" Aden and I say at the same time.

"Go ahead." he says politely, another Abnegation habit.

"Look we need to talk." I cross my arms across my chest. I look up at him. Though I try not to notice, Aden looks more muscular and he is wearing a black shirt, which makes his green eyes pop. I look away quickly and when he doesn't say anything, I continue to talk.

"Aden, I know things have been awkward between us after... you know. I just want to get to know you better and  I- I know I acted stupid and I wanted to apologize for overreacting and -" I start to talk fast and I'm not sure if he even understands what I talking about till he interrupts me.

Aden starts to laugh. "You wanted to apologize? I was going to say I was sorry." he stops there looks at me again and I realize we are less than two feet apart from each other.

He runs his head through his hair and talks again, "I know it was just a kiss to you but I really like you and -" but this time I interrupt him. Before I know what I'm doing and can think about the consequences, I close the two feet between us,grab his face, and kiss him hard. Again, butterflies fill my stomach and I close my eyes. Aden starts to kiss me back and I have to force myself to break away.

"There is no need to be sorry and it was NOT just a kiss." I whisper. Without showering or ever changing into into new clothes, I walk out of the dormitory smiling.

I sit down at the table while my friends are finishing up eating. McKenzie brushes her blue and blonde hair out of her face and eyes me suspiciously. She stuffs part of a muffin in her mouth and says, " Ri ro ru rook ro rapi?"

"What?" I ask confused.

She swallows. "Why do you look so happy?"

I open my mouth but, thankfully, I don't have to answer because Troy screams across the cafeteria.

"YEAH!!! CAPTURE THE FLAG!!!!"

"That's today?" I had completely forgotten about it.

"Yep." Collin says who is sitting right next to me. He looks at me and smiles brightly. I cross my eyes and make a funny face at him so we both laugh.

"So, what have I missed?" I ask McKenzie. She blows the blue and blonde bangs out of her face again.

"Not much. We all kinda just hung out this weekend and I got another tattoo. Oh yeah, and that happened." She nods her head further down the table. I follow her gesture and find Josh and Amy sitting next to each other. Amy laughs at something Josh said and then they start to hold hands.
