Zac's P.O.V
(Zac's mansion on top)"Go Zac!go Zac!", "Fight! Fight!"
That's the only thing I could hear as I punched my opponent in his jaw.
"Thud" the sound of his unconscious body collapsing on the floor."That guys was the last match and as we can see all you ppl who laid their bets on Zac Ryder are gonna be rich tonight!"the commentator announced as I made my way to the bench.
"Congrats man!" My best friend Ashton said throwing me a bottle of water."the bruise on your eye is really big though, find a way to cover it before you go home bud."
"Are you kidding me right now Ash, you of all people should know that they won't even spare a glance at me if I'm bleeding to death. They don't care, as a matter of fact when I go home no one is going to be up waiting for me! They might have finished their amazing family dinner and slept.""Come on Zac, let go it's been years." He said patting my back.
"I'm not the one you should be explaining that to bud. See you tomorrow at school."I said walking away to the main desk. Most of the crowd had already disappeared. Since the police could raid it any moment plus it was a school night.
"Zachary my man. Tonight you made the circuit go bonkers, here is 7k, thanks for keeping this place alive," Sam said handing me the money.
Sam was an ex Wrestler, his one major loss made this manager drop him.
Since then he organizes these underground circuits away from the reaches of the police.
"It's all you Sam, it's all you!"I said getting into my car and speeding home.〰
As I reached home, our what others say mansion I saw that most of the lights were off except for Zara's room and the porch.
Making my way in I made a beeline for the kitchen. Opening the fridge I hoped there were some leftovers.
Why leftovers? And why did I fight for some money if I lived in a mansion? After the babies death I was distanced from the family. They dint talk to me or acknowledge my existence. They stopped attending my games, Zara stopped our movie marathons, the minute I sat in the dinner table they would leave. Heck they stopped talking to me unless we were at a party or wedding where they had to maintain their image.
They did leave an envelope for Monthly expenses which was enough for a regular kids one year allowance.
But I fought since I needed money. As soon as I turned 18 I'm going to move out and end their misery once and for all. I'll be out of their lives for good and they will no longer have to breathe the same air as their family wrecker.
Fighting was also my getaway. The bruises and injuries that I suffered made me feel like I was receiving a blow for what I caused that night. It also helped me lash out my anger and feelings that I kept bottled up.Ashton was the only one who knew about all of this.
I was pretty popular at school being on the football team and also being a Ryder but no one knew anything.
In everyone's eyes we were the perfect family.Seeing that there were no left overs today and the cuts on my hand would forbid me for cooking I grabbed an apple and banana and called it a night.
At about 3 a.m I jolted awake. This was nearly a routine now. I had been haunted by nightmares since the whole distancing.
My dreams would consists of voices saying " you killed your sibling Zac", " you ruined your family", " you are all alone Zac", " no one can ever love you",
" you are a MURDERER!"Plugging in my ear phones I sat staring at the ceiling. I knew tears were rolling down my eyes but I made no movement to wipe them.
I just sat there wishing that I could just turn back time and make things right. That maybe I should have been there in front of the car instead of my mom.
I just wished maybe I could leave and escape this reality. I died ever moment and sunk deeper into a hole of blackness.
I had no reason for looking forward in life, all that I was filled with was remorse, anger, sadness and loneliness.Authors note
